darkhorse13··on Resetting Xbox
I find that extremely hard to believe given that South of Midnight peaked on Steam with only 1.5k players.

Let's be honest here.

darkhorse13··on Consciousness likely not unique to earthlings, paper says
Exactly like string theory.
darkhorse13··on Consciousness likely not unique to earthlings, paper says
Wow, a paper said this so it must be true. What is the point of research like this that can never be tested? Genuinely curious. Shouldn't we find non-Earth lifeforms FIRST before even trying to make these conclusions?

Edit: Wasn't trying to be harsh here. To be clear, I do believe in consciousness. This sounded a little clickbaity. I also think string theory is a meaningless pursuit.

darkhorse13··on Show HN: GlycemicGPT – Open-source AI-powered diabetes management
This is quite possibly a horrible idea. Personal anecdote: ChatGPT once read a blood work report value as 40, when the actual report said 4.
darkhorse13··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026)
I'm building an open-source Typeform-alternative: https://forms.md. Also trying to monetize it via a WordPress plugin: https://wp.forms.md
darkhorse13··on Tell HN: My open-source project hit 5k registered users
Nice! Feel free to reach out, my email is on my profile.
darkhorse13··on Tell HN: My open-source project hit 5k registered users
I don't really do anything tbh, I made a few posts on Reddit, and mostly on HN. Totally organic, no upvote farming/bots, kept it 100% honest for my peace of mind.
darkhorse13··on Tell HN: My open-source project hit 5k registered users
Thank you. I agree, the credibility and growth has been very gratifying, definitely more so than the revenue.
darkhorse13··on Tell HN: My open-source project hit 5k registered users
Nice, Alhamdulillah!
darkhorse13··on Tell HN: My open-source project hit 5k registered users
Thank you
darkhorse13··on The hottest college major [Computer Science] hit a wall. What happened?
Awful take in my humble opinion. Outsourced, vibe-coders as a concept is beyond scary.
darkhorse13··on Isseven
Is this SOC2 compliant?
darkhorse13··on I'm OK being left behind, thanks
There's a shocking amount of overlap between AI & Crypto/NFT bros:

darkhorse13··on Tell HN: I'm 60 years old. Claude Code has re-ignited a passion
I'm sorry, I know you mean well, but your comment reads like a typical boomer parody.
darkhorse13··on Launch HN: OctaPulse (YC W26) – Robotics and computer vision for fish farming
I like it, but it should just be visual. It jacks my default scrollpad/mouse behavior, which is the annoying part.
darkhorse13··on Sovereignty in a System Prompt
It's expected to counter this meme: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/csy5RHcXT6Y
darkhorse13··on Dark Mode vs. Light Mode: Which Is Better?
Trust me bro.
darkhorse13··on C Is Best (2025)
They never said it's a horrible language.
darkhorse13··on Launch HN: Kenobi (YC W22) – Personalize your website for every visitor
Sorry, it's literally in the post, I didn't read it properly. But I did try the demo though.
darkhorse13··on Launch HN: Kenobi (YC W22) – Personalize your website for every visitor
Since you're from batch W22, what was your original idea (if you don't mind me asking)? Or was this it?
darkhorse13··on Ask HN: How valuable is a domain like messenger.new?
https://bolt.new/

And there are other non-AI services like doc.new -> create new GDoc, form.new -> create new GForm, kinda handy.

darkhorse13··on Kagi Specials
How would one get into Kagi Specials? I've got a privacy-focused form builder.
darkhorse13··on Ask HN: How does one build large front end apps without a framework like React?
For me, it's Django templates + HTMX + vanilla JS when I absolutely need it. Crazy how far you can get with just this stack. I even did a technical spike for a realtime chat app recently with this, and it honestly performs better than some bloated JS monsters.
darkhorse13··on Ask HN: How to find a non-technical co-founder/sales person?
Thanks! I'm close to $500.
darkhorse13··on Ask HN: How to find a non-technical co-founder/sales person?
I've sold too few to be honest.
darkhorse13··on Quarkdown: A modern Markdown-based typesetting system
Slightly related, but for forms: https://forms.md
darkhorse13··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2025)
https://forms.md, open-source Typeform alternative with a one-time pricing.
darkhorse13··on An engineer's brutally honest pitch for his Typeform alternative
That makes sense, and you may be 100% right about this.

But it doesn't really hurt for me to try.

darkhorse13··on An engineer's brutally honest pitch for his Typeform alternative
Why don't every good dev team roll out their own authentications?
darkhorse13··on An engineer's brutally honest pitch for his Typeform alternative
Forms are deceptively complex. A lot goes into a really good, solid, well-tested form builder/generator.

Multi-steps, logic jumps, data-binding, tons of different form fields, localization, good design and UX, etc.
