danielinoa··on Apple takes down ICE tracking apps after pressure from DOJ
It's called "sideloading" because you're sneakily installing software without the manufacturer's consent. Remember it's never your device, you just have permission to use it.
danielinoa··on Ants that seem to defy biology – They lay eggs that hatch into another species
So the egg does indeed come first before the proverbial chicken.
danielinoa··on iOS 18 could 'sherlock' $400M in app revenue
Quality of life in what sense? How do you contend with the fact that your iOS apps, unlike web apps, can be arbitrarily gate-kept?
danielinoa··on Go with PHP
There is a syntax error in the example shown by that article. If you must use any time to find it then you should not go with PHP.
danielinoa··on Apple cannot ban links to outside App Store payments, U.S. appeals court says
That is currently unclear.

Apple is likely to maliciously comply by allowing external links yet introducing new restrictions and guidelines that will dissuade developers from even trying.

This would be in line with their attempt to charge further commissions in South Korea and the Netherlands after being forced allow alternative payment systems for certain app categories.

danielinoa··on The App Store does not protect consumers
They only ban unprofitable apps. Scam apps that make money are typically okay since Apple gets a 30% cut.
danielinoa··on 94% of the universe’s galaxies are permanently beyond our reach
If this fact makes you uneasy just know that 100% of the universe's galaxies, except the one we are currently in, are already unreachable within your lifetime.
danielinoa··on Is your programming language unreasonable? (2015)
Not quite. There can be a null value if the object type allows for it, think Optional<T>. What you can't have is an undefined object, as you could in Javascript for example.
danielinoa··on Apple engineer killed in Tesla crash had previously complained about autopilot
According to this article: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30877577/driver-tesla-mod...

"Data from his phone indicates that a mobile game was active during his drive and that his hands were not on the wheel during the six seconds ahead of the crash."

danielinoa··on Apple Developer Documentation Is Missing
Funny thing is Microsoft has much better documentation on Apple's very own frameworks. Simply compare their documentation on this arbitrary type (CIAffineClamp):

Microsoft's Documentation: - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/coreimage.ciaffi... - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/coreimage.ciaffi...

Apple's Documentation: - https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/Gr...

danielinoa··on Go proposal: Leave “if err != nil” alone?
Swift has an elegant solution to this called Optional Binding: https://docs.swift.org/swift-book/LanguageGuide/TheBasics.ht... Go would benefit from something like this.
