dakolli··on Let's make quality the norm again
Most of my "smart" devices are Chinese. Huawei creates superior products than most western/korean/japanese counterparts. I would prefer everything I own is Chinese, the quality is superb.
dakolli··on Pion, an agent designed to run any company autonomously
If you automate a business heavily, it will fail. At least in the sense you people seem to be imagining. You can get away with this at a factory (kind of, but you'll also be out competed by your local community, you won't get tax breaks for hiring people your competitor will, and new types of taxes will be developed to punish you). We reward human collaboration as a society for a reason and punish extreme selfishness, these efforts will fail.
dakolli··on Pion, an agent designed to run any company autonomously
I know people who have run this experiment, with companies in the 7figs ARR, indie devs. Both of them have reverted to hiring humans.

Your bot you call a 'manager' can't actually do anything. You are selling ali-express drop shipped (probably filled with heavy metals) protein for $50.00 (why)?

You're in here actually running the company.. It seems like you have no product, a wrapper maybe.

See the reason you're in here running the company, sharing this link is because humans inherently value the social connection derived from "doing business". Pivot while you can, because this simply is not a paradigm anybody wants. You should read up on commodity fetishism.

Every company that attempts a strategy of full autonomy will automatically get out competed by the human ran company. For many different reasons, but mostly because its rather cheap and lacking any meaning. Even if you had an AI that was capable of doing so (you don't), people want human connection, they want the meaning behind things. We don't do business just for the sake of producing pieces of paper..

I would argue half the reason to have "businesses" is to employee your fellow community members, a tide that lifts all boats so you can live in a decent society. There's so missing here. You llm grifters are really losing the plot, not everything is about money (even if we would like it to be).

The Sovereign Individual???

Their chat bot can't even do any sort of real functions other than look up orders or add you to a waitlist... Yet, its called 'the manager'

Another grift.

profitable without the cost of tokens, gpus or the machine itself lol
dakolli··on The AI job market in 2026
Sorry, Ive been hearing these exact same arguments for 3 years now and its always extermely divorced from reality. Its starting to get very tiring, its hard not to be rude at a certain point.

Don't go around telling people their careers are in peril when you clearly have no clue what you're talking about. What do you expect?

dakolli··on The AI job market in 2026
Simple web apps, the kind you're describing have never been difficult, they were never what kept SWEs employed.

I'm not even sure what you're talking about when you say "web apps", because the kind of "web apps" that have kept SWEs employed are created by large organizations that have large requirements. You sound like you don't know what you're talking about. Companies also aren't going to just stop growing, iterating and improving, which requires expertise. Im worth more than ever with AI, my value as a SWE has only been increasing.

You people seriously need to stop using LLMs because your brains are devolving like taxi cabs drivers who had parts of their brains responsible for navigation atrophy after the advent of GPS.

dakolli··on The AI job market in 2026
Yeah completely unmaintainable code that cant handle more than 1k users before it collapses on itself. And quite probably so ugly its literally impossible to use.
dakolli··on The AI job market in 2026
You must have incredibly low standards for quality if you think manual coding will be finished any time soon, web dev or any.

secondly, using llms well still requires you to be a great programmer. Y'all are losing the plot.

Also, just because its easier to do doesnt mean everyone is suddenly going to want to do it. There's still always going to be only a small percentage of thr world that likes to build things.

Have you seen the code these things produce? Just because it compiles/ runs/ loads does not mean its durable. Its wild you people have these opinions, and it leads me to belive you have no idea what you're talking about.

There is mass dunning kruger due to llms, and people are speaking with way too much authority about things they do not understand. I hate this website.

dakolli··on Mullenweg has returned as CEO after attempted board ouster
Or just don't use these hacky solutions and just make a gd ecom website. It's 2026, use claude if you have too. There is no reason for shopify to exist (or wordpress for that matter, but at least wordpress isn't for profit). They say AI should kill SaaS, but it should actually kill all these dumb abstraction PaaS.

I say this as someone who has recently helped a few friends move their ecom stores off shopify, and wow, I didn't know such a horrible paradigm could exist. I genuinely think it would be easier for someone to learn a web stack in 2026 than learn to piece together whatever spaghetti monster shopify, and similar hacks are.

dakolli··on Registration without a phone number on Signal will use zero-knowledge proofs
Nobody is arguing the e2ee isn't valid, its useful as a metadata collection platform, which is all they care about. Former NSA and CIA Director Michael Hayden famously stated: “We kill people based on metadata." and then he tried to hold back a smile and said "but not with this metadata". It's usefulness as a metadata collection platform becomes much less useful if people don't trust it, so of course it's secure.

If you can convince as many of your enemies (the american people who politically organize against them) to use the same platform, your job becomes easier than having to ETL from 20 different privacy platforms..

To be honest, I use signal, I have nothing to hide but it is useful in that nobody can spoof me (easily). I even talk to my 60 year old mother on signal. It has it's uses. But the EFF is definitely a federal psyop to get people using tools and techniques they control.

Just look at the people who created TOR, they're all feds. All these projects are funded by feds. These tools are advertised in CIA recruitment campaigns, they are literal weapons to circumvent nation state firewalls and deliver psychological weapons, overthrow governments or allow covert recruitment of foreign traitors.

dakolli··on Registration without a phone number on Signal will use zero-knowledge proofs
They avoid Monero because Signal and the EFF are actually the feds and this is all theater.
dakolli··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
Openrouter isn't even 00.01% of tokens used on a daily basis. China alone uses 500 Trillion tokens a day and they're only 1/8th of the world. Much of the world has a google account, use your brain.
dakolli··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
Why would Google be losing at AI, they're SOTA. They have all the users.

There's zero chance that AI destroys their ad business. I get served ads from Amazon in podcast RSS feeds that were directly derived from things I said in Gemini chats. It's definitely not destroying ads lol

I'm surprised by the weird levels of incompetence on this website, use your brain or have you already hawked that off to your favorite AI lab.

dakolli··on Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher
ya'll are getting nerd sniped hard. This is all marketing and doesn't translate to the real world what so ever. This is getting so tiring, I really hate this website.
dakolli··on Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher
What's so magical about the problem... Its the exact time of problem they were built to solve (things that can be brute forced with language). I'm not impressed.
dakolli··on Everyone should slow down AI development except for me
He basically did the equivalent of a scientist moving to Nazi Germany in 1942 to help the Nazis research the atomic bomb.

He lectured us all on safety, then he went off, by choice, to create a "super intelligence" in the modern day Nazi Germany, to help said Nazis become even more advanced while they're actively committing crimes unimaginable (that they film, brag about and broadcast the world, so he's obviously aware not concerned with safety in any way (except for the safety of Nazis).

dakolli··on P(doom)
I think it has everything to do with the subject at hand.

Elon, Dario and Altman are all terrible human beings, along with 99.99% of the rest of the ruling class. We don't need any of them, and we definitely shouldn't trust a single syllable that comes out their mouth.

dakolli··on LG denies TV spying claims, says tracking and snooping concerns 'not true'
Tldr: you shouldnt be concerned because its only 36 months away lol
dakolli··on Will there be a 7G?
You're ripping yourself off, you can get 1TB of 5G from tmobile for $50-60
dakolli··on Will There Be a 7G?
Ive never heard a single person say they don't see a difference between 4G and 5G, atleast in the USA.

Ive switched my entire home internet setup to 5G and haven't had an outtage in two years. Whereas it was once a week with fiber. I also can fallback with duel sims.

5G has legitimately changed my quality of (digital) life.

dakolli··on Claude is only available to people over 18 years
ZKPs would defeat the purpose of age verification, the point being to track your activity online so governments can do precrime and make sure no group can ever use technology to organize and challenge existing power structures so this will never happen.

Should be a thing stores sell for $5.00 or whatever, show your ID (not scanned) get a code you can use to verify. This obviously has flaws, but the point of age verification isnt to protect kids, the world is ran by literal pedophiles.

dakolli··on How to Build an AI Software Factory: Agents That Open, Review, and Merge PRs
People are slowly loosing the brain muscles for writing (also thinking hard). Just like someone who is in shape and lets themselves go, it gets harder and hard to wake up and go for the run the longer you wait.

At this point people genuinely do not have the willpower to write, and instantly give into the lazy shortcuts llms provide. Just like how GPS apps degraded smart people's ability to navigate around their own towns (I've seen this happen to many over the years), LLMs will totally degrade people's ability to write (and think for themselves).

We're slowly auctioning off our sovereignty in exchange for quick shortcuts to every tech company. Not good.

Just wait, soon you will hear rumors of how tech CEOs don't let their children use AI in school (while they demand everyone else's children do), similar to how Zuck et al didn't let his kids use social media.

dakolli··on I spent $220 on Google app ads and 60% of the installs were robots
Probably the most succinct description of this phenomenon I've seen in a long time.
dakolli··on Astra for Coding: Why Are We Doing This Again?
Even on personal projects, if I go through a few major features without reviewing the code, I always end up doing massive revisions that steal hours of my time and fill me with rage in the process.

I'm not convinced this style of "agentic engineering" saves much time. I guess if I was oblivious to what good code looks like, and didn't care about maintainability It wouldn't bother me so much, but it legitimately has effects my "mental health".

dakolli··on OpenAI Agents API
Why not just build this yourself, you literally have AI, why wall yourself into an OpenAI garden. These sandboxed environments are trivial to build.
dakolli··on OpenAI Agents API
Then why tf do i need their api
dakolli··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Damn, we really gotta get rid of the vibe coders. Bad things are on the horizon if we keep encouraging these naive habits.
