dakolli··on GAO: DOE Is Prematurely Excluding Less Expensive Options for Nuclear Cleanup
because they have infiltrated the government to reduce the cost of safety, and increase the possibility of environmental harm to pad their margins... faster shit code, AI cat videos and so they can add 100ft to the length of their next boat?
dakolli··on GAO: DOE Is Prematurely Excluding Less Expensive Options for Nuclear Cleanup
A bunch of these nuclear power startups have started reached criticality over the last week. Aalo and Valar (thiel) and now GAO is trying to loosen regulations around nuclear waste disposal.. Makes sense.

Weird how we only get green energy when it's necessary for the technocratic class to power their data centers (and when they are small enough to be flown on location for the military, so the military can destroy a nations power production capabilities and still be able to power their invasions).

During Valar's announcement this week regarding achieving their goals of nuclear power generation they did a tech-style keynote address where they powered a nvidia blackwell GPU and "hosted a website with it" (lol).

dakolli··on GLM 5.2 and the coming AI margin collapse
there's huge margins on GPU time, not tokens.

people that use vim motions/shortcuts/keyboard workflows are more productive, this is undeniable..

I have found llms to be utterly useless for frontend (tailwind included).

That is, unless you're building a single page app/landing page that is the typical center column with a hero and below that a 3x3 feature grid with those same 3 colors that all the sloppers show off.

I'm not a frontend dev, but these statements are starting to get outright disrespectful to those that are. Do you people understand how much "world", customer and product knowledge is required to design and implement great UX/UI?

I promise you are not going to be able to translate all this internalized understanding to an LLM and have it do your "tailwind integration" It actually sucks at all frontend outside of the 3 types of page layouts it understand.. Shitty landing pages, generic dashboards and shitty blog layouts.

Ya'll yearn for slop though so maybe everything will just become shit anyways.

dakolli··on Fable 5 is Back
Why would you believe anything an intelligence agency says? Half their job is spreading fear and obfuscating the truth.
dakolli··on Fable 5 is Back
All the code an LLM produces is of questionable quality, so I'm not sure why you'd prioritize quality over speed. Speed is their only value add.
dakolli··on What to learn to be a graphics programmer
Nobody who has ambitions of being the top of their field in engineering wants to be a water treatment specialists, arborist or actuary (maybe actuary if you're a stats nerd). What you're saying is go do something on the based on the potential for you to be professionally successful.. What about people doing things they love?

I hate these people telling people who love to do a certain thing that they should just become a plumber or an electrician. Not everything is about spending your life to make as much pieces of paper the govt tells you are worth something.

I'd rather be in poverty working with computers everyday and doing what I love than make 10k a month being a plumber. I actually can't stand you people.

dakolli··on ZCode – Harness for GLM-5.2
While Trump is terrible, all the same morally questionable practices existed under Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden. This administration just likes to brag about it. The US has been controlled by an evil technocracy/intelligence apparatus for 25+ years that gives zero f*ks about democracy or a constitution.
dakolli··on ZCode – Harness for GLM-5.2
There's no way to safely use SOTA LLMs if privacy, and IP protection are your concern. Unless you want to spend 100k+ to host a 1T param model. Even if you use OpenCode you're sending all that information to random data centers you know nothing about.

But yes, US intelligence has killed and ruined the lives of far more people than China has. Not sure how so many people buy into the narrative that they're protecting freedom and democracy.. They're protecting their freedom to kill and crush all their enemies and control every "democracy" on earth.

Are you living in a cave? The US just sent someone to prison for 30 years for passing out political magazines at a protest.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2026/jun/...

The US has a larger prison population than China. The US does not have a great human rights record.. Have you not been following what's going on at CBS? Have you never used X?

dakolli··on Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5
Most people don't care about trust anymore, we live in a low trust society where this is to be expected. People gladly line up to be poisoned by fast food restaurants and trade 1/3 of their life for pieces of paper on a daily basis.

If this is the most important industry for the US economy, the US is screwed. and .... Hopefully you're correct.

In past Empires kings bet their entire nations future on the words of soothsayers , people who said they could predict the future. It seems like Machine Learning engineers are the magicians of Empire of the modern age.

I'm being very sarcastic, local model evangalists seems to just be operating on vibes when they say these things and are completely disconnected from how models work, what the hardware requirements are.

Prices aren't going down, and consumer platforms are being shipped with less RAM so we can be sold cloud products. This isn't going to happen.

Can you please explain to me how you're going to fit 700bb-1T params in 64GB of RAM? You realize there are memory requirements proportional to model size?

dakolli··on GLM 5.2 beats Claude in our benchmarks
That too.

Sure, If you want to light money on fire for entertainment, more power to you. There's probably worse ways to light 100k on fire. If I have an extra 100k laying around it's going to my family though.
dakolli··on GLM 5.2 beats Claude in our benchmarks
Cool then everyone will just change their config to route through a provider overseas for an added 50-100ms latency. Who cares.
dakolli··on GLM 5.2 beats Claude in our benchmarks
8 X RTX6000. It will run you around 80-100k to get started with a model at this size with decent tps..

Don't worry though, open source evangelists will tell you that these will be running on your phone in the next 3 years.

For $100k you could run this model 24/7 through open router with 10 concurrent sessions at 50tps for a decade and have money left over for a vacation. There's no point in investing this type of money in local models unless you have a business where you're already paying for many employee's individual token usage.

dakolli··on U.S. government will decide who gets to use GPT-5.6
Okay dude, whatever makes you feel good. I don't want to interrupt your cope, you're right, China can't compete with the West.
dakolli··on Previewing GPT‑5.6 Sol: a next-generation model
The only real world task benchmark I know of is Scale Labs RLI

https://labs.scale.com/leaderboard/rli

Its clear to me these models are useless on any real world task, a 4% pass rate on $20-30/hr Upwork tasks. This whole trend of agentic engineering is a giant money grab.

dakolli··on Previewing GPT‑5.6 Sol: a next-generation model
Its just lies by OpenAI dude, these people are just trying to IPO so they can buy a 100m yacht.
dakolli··on GLM 5.2 vs. Opus
I would agree with all those points, and my numbers are a little off. I really just don't want to use any of it. I'm more excited about fast FIM autocomplete that works well, something like cursor tab without cursor. If something can increase my wpm and take strain off my fingers that would be nice. At this point latency and accuracy is terrible though.
dakolli··on GLM 5.2 vs. Opus
I disagree, fundamentally.

I see little value in throwing a ton of context at an llm and waiting 10-20 minutes for a coin flip on whether or not its going to produce junk. I'd rather do quick 60 second turns, get most of the way there and fix the rest myself if I have to. I'd rather honestly just not use them.
