I think open source is important and fair use is important, but I’m skeptical of the business model of gutting open source by hosting it and reselling it wholesale with a few modifications.
Amazon, Google and Microsoft are getting rich just reselling hosted open source and actively competing with and gutting companies like Elastic.
I just think certain resumes will get an interview almost every time in some industries and certain resumes will likely never get an interview almost every time, but the majority of resumes are like you say have different aspects that appeal to one empoyer over another.
We find applicants are more likely to be rejected from every position they apply to than would be predicted by the baseline of each position making statistically independent decisions.
Obviously a rejected resume is more likely to be rejected by every other employer and an accepted resume is more likely to be accepted by every other employer. Like online dating, most employers are looking for some baseline indicators that you are going to be successful and stable.
There is no unanimous consensus on this issue at all.
I think you just have to go a step or two above what most other candidates are doing. In my experience, that works really really well.
They are just trying to get even with anthropic for trying to control the us military use of their technology.
This was just the easiest way to do it with anthropics incredibly stupid self own.
Huge companies with billions of dollars have tried to compete with Google for years. Google has spent billions to compete with Facebook.
It seems very unlikely that you can just come up with this and win.
We won. I used to stay up all night watching Nasa launches and landings as a kid. I felt like an outcast. Now everyone’s wearing Nasa shirts like it’s cool and they don’t really have any good launches.
We used to be outcasts and now I look at youngsters and they’re doing the same things and it’s cool…? It’s like suddnely the jocks are the outcasts.
They’re like look at our safety and they do all thesse outrageous things.
I think they might still have to mention that they are not a US Citizen as a box on the i9 form, but most US employers are not going to ask any more questions as asking questions about an employees citizenship after they have already provided work authorization is just likely to get you sued as there is not legitimate work purpose. Kind of like how HR is never going to ask you your religion etc. Again this is only very limited information at time of hire and is not tracked or updated beyond date of hire.
Unless they have government contracts, most employers are not actively tracking employee citizenship status.
In my experience since phone scammers tend to scam a small subset of numbers like dell, facebook, Microsoft, the Internal Revenue Service, copying this could allow big companies to block a huge number of phishing calls requiring their numbers. Since many calls originate from authenticating carriers now we need to go to the next level and block fake calls.
Places like Canada and Europe, we are mostly friendly with and have slight disagreements. Ukrainians support their home country and we support Ukraine. Venezuelans, Cubans and Iranians hate the government and so do we. Chinese people have a so so view of the government and we have a so so relationship with China.
It doesn’t work perfectly, but it’s more the exception than the rule. I think it’s really a test of how compatible a society is with our society in how expats who live here view their home country and it’s more a correlation than a cause that expats views on their government mostly mirror our governments views on a country. It just very direct right now in regards to Cuba as Rubio has a lot of sway over the US policies.
Anyways, regardless this post was more a disagreement with the articles views than some sort of enforced doctrine.
