> overall you have to be ok with the app being approximate too

And with epsilon big enough any output it good output...

cyclopeanutopia··on Show HN: Doom or Bloom, map your AI worldview
P(doom) ~ 100%, checks out, but I'm an easy case.
cyclopeanutopia··on First Principles Thinking
Lots of words, not a lot of meaning. What is this post about?
cyclopeanutopia··on Early rogue AI agent activity and attempts to hack found on urlquery.net
Because Trump and DoD want weaponized AI.
cyclopeanutopia··on OpenAI is enlisting an influencer army to make it look 'good for the world'
Wow, what a colossal disconnect from reality.
cyclopeanutopia··on OpenAI is enlisting an influencer army to make it look 'good for the world'
That's way too unhinged comment to be real.
cyclopeanutopia··on [dead]
Yeah, and evolution was working even longer on the alignment between dogs, cats and humans - look what happened to them. Do you want your name to become Snuffles?
cyclopeanutopia··on Ask HN: How do you interview devs in a post-AI world?

cyclopeanutopia··on Suspected sabotage causes major Netherlands rail disruption
Someone else did in this thread, but tbh I'm not inclined to give people behaving like Russian trolls too much of the benefit of doubt.
cyclopeanutopia··on Suspected sabotage causes major Netherlands rail disruption
Russia is involved in many acts of sabotage in Europe over past 2 or 3 years, so this is a very natural first guess for us, European citizens. They also started increasing their activity recently.
cyclopeanutopia··on People who can't picture anything are rewriting the science of imagination
Yeah, I can do that, but I think it is the same thing on a spectrum, just like the visual imagination.

When you look at something and close your eyes, do you also not "see it" immediately after?
cyclopeanutopia··on People who can't picture anything are rewriting the science of imagination

Wdym? I think that the inner monologue is "hearing it", with a varying degree of vividness between people, of course.

cyclopeanutopia··on A misalignment of AI in mathematics
> There are a lot of us who just use the AI on projects until the session limit hits, and wait for the usage to reset.

Do you mean that you can't continue on your own until the reset?

cyclopeanutopia··on A misalignment of AI in mathematics
It's more about *finding* problems. And soon there won't be anyone who can do that, thanks to people lacking imagination.
cyclopeanutopia··on A misalignment of AI in mathematics
And who is "we" in your story?
cyclopeanutopia··on Don't let anyone take away your big box of cables
And then, when you really need them, it turns out that out of ten maybe one still works and you couldn't predict which one it will be. :)
cyclopeanutopia··on Mathematicians want proof OpenAI didn't use their work
I have the same question, why OpenAI and Anthropic just don't release everything as open source?
cyclopeanutopia··on GPT-6 Astra, looped transformers, and hidden reasoning
I got to

> I am sure that OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra is top of mind for everyone right now.

and closed the tab.

cyclopeanutopia··on It's time for Mark Zuckerberg to resign from Meta
Are you implying that Zuckerberg has a soul?
cyclopeanutopia··on Navier-Stokes – Tristan Buckmaster [pdf]
But the whoreshippers of The Holy Dollar will tell you it's all good and justified.
cyclopeanutopia··on On the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem
I'd say that believing to be "far ahead" is much deeper kind of coping.
cyclopeanutopia··on On the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem
But their standards are so low - given the recent incidents - that it doesn't mean much. :)
cyclopeanutopia··on LLMs as a Cognitive Virus
Basing this on what, if you care to share?
cyclopeanutopia··on LLMs as a Cognitive Virus
One can't think only about the smartest people, but the whole population.
cyclopeanutopia··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
It would require changing humans first.

Why not use rpi then?
