cute_boi··on Apple Watch Ultra 4
> For everyday use, Apple Watch Ultra 4 now offers more than two days of battery life, up to 50 hours.

This is the reason i don't like these smart watches... I always forget to charge the watch.....

cute_boi··on Understanding the recent DDoS attack against Read the Docs

cute_boi··on iPhone Duo
Whats the point of big screen when we can't even install the app we want. Sideloading works for 7 days and there is artificial limitation of 7-8 App Ids which sucks.
cute_boi··on Shopify acquires Tailwind
I think it is mostly backend dev who don't want to spend time in frontend stuff.
cute_boi··on US to ban Canadian dairy, alcohol, motor vehicle imports on September 29
I think Canada could easily just import everything from China just to piss Trump, and take hardliner approach, it would bring trump and government to its place. But Canadian leaders are not so brave...
cute_boi··on On the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem
>Once a robot can do everything an IQ 80 human can do, only better and cheaper, there will be no reason to employ IQ 80 humans. Once a robot can do everything an IQ 120 human can do, only better and cheaper, there will be no reason to employ IQ 120 humans. Once a robot can do everything an IQ 180 human can do, only better and cheaper, there will be no reason to employ humans at all, in the unlikely scenario that there are any left by that point. [1]

Current models are already very very capable. If it becomes cheap and very fast, i think it is game over.

I thought openai don't use any user data if we opt out of training and via api?
cute_boi··on The far right's win in Germany is sending a chill through Europe's establishment
Depends on who is going to give freebies. These politicians are making people poor and giving freebies to win elections ...
cute_boi··on Windows 11's "special" developer edition looks like another marketing misfire
Over-allocating something you never use just to store it on disk to improve performance is like using the MacroSlop strategy of preloading Excel, lol. I’ve probably written more kernels, fuzzers, and low-level drivers than anyone on Hacker News, so please don’t tell me this strategy is helping these days. This just give excuse to developer to not optimize their app because it just works.
cute_boi··on The far right's win in Germany is sending a chill through Europe's establishment
Liberal party is sacrificing everything just to create a vote bank. They know immigrants will always vote them as Right don't like immigrants.
cute_boi··on The far right's win in Germany is sending a chill through Europe's establishment
I don't understand why we even give the right an opportunity to speak on immigration. Is it really that hard to allow only legal immigration and stop giving incentives to illegal immigrants? I understand that there may be around 5% of people who are genuinely trying to escape dictatorships, but if 95% are just gaming the system, it's going to look very bad.
cute_boi··on Ask HN: How do you manage skills files?
i haven't written any skills and it works fine. I do use Agents.md for repo and that's all.
cute_boi··on Asahi Linux on M3
mistaken? Looks like you can't comprehend goalposts with common sense. Apple isn't random acme company we are comparing here.
cute_boi··on Asahi Linux on M3
My argument was apple is doing nothing much for open source, then you suddenly come with link that shows Apple has done nothing for open source compared to other company like Microsoft or Google or even Meta.
cute_boi··on Asahi Linux on M3
If you see google and microsoft contribution to OSS, apple contribution to OSS is basically nothing.
cute_boi··on Asahi Linux on M3
Basically nothing except swift and llvm.
cute_boi··on Vidact – a compiler that turns React into direct DOM operations
Please use it, so i don't have to read sloppy article and sloppy code and I can block the website and its author.
cute_boi··on Windows 11's "special" developer edition looks like another marketing misfire
Or one can simply optimize the memory?
cute_boi··on Asahi Linux on M3
can you please tell us what have they done for open source except LLVM.
cute_boi··on Chrome again exempts Google from user site data settings
Just for your info classic ublock style doesn't work on mv3. Google have severely limited adblocking in chrome now. They deprecated very late due to pressure from people, not out of goodwill.

Useless to users, not to advertisers. And, many people like me have never purchased any products after seeing ads at least on internet.

cute_boi··on Nitter has more working instances than before the takedowns
Zuckerberg and his minions have changes html and obfuscate it so much, it is impossible to block ads these days. They are worst than google. Imagine google decided every video will require widevine & there is no way to block ads just like twitch.
cute_boi··on Chrome again exempts Google from user site data settings
Politicians are also humans, everyone working for De Beers are also human... Please stop justifying egregious behavior from company who is destroying the fabric of internet with too many useless ads....And it isn't first time they are doing it, these "engineers" were the one who removed mv2 without better ad blocks in mv3.
cute_boi··on Chrome again exempts Google from user site data settings
> all Google Search results are now opaque https://www.google.com/goto?url= garbage rather than the site URLs!

Can google justify why are they doing this? I wish google will die sooner if they start behaving like this.

cute_boi··on South African diamond mines are closing due to weak sales and lab-grown stones
And, any person who has ethics should never purchase these diamond, they are literally tainted with blood.
cute_boi··on A Million Falcons Went Missing. Here’s How They Were Found
Flock cameras are for surveilling normal citizen and is used for suppressing freedom, quelling protests and to fulfill capitalist wildest dream to make America like China not for flocks of falcons.

cute_boi··on How the Disaster of "Forever Chemicals" Was Kept Secret

cute_boi··on Portal by Spotify cut my Claude Code token usage by 90%
STOP hijacking my scroll. I don't know why chrome even allow such behavior?
