curiosweti··on Ask HN: How do I prepare for a job as an Implementation Consultant?
Thank you so much for the comment (I chuckled quite a bit).

The biggest worry I have right now is after a while I might just start getting bored or frustrated. I love learning new things and building too.

Lets see, how it all turns out.. HN wont let me update you after a year though, the post will get archived :(

curiosweti··on Ask HN: What book would you recommend to your younger self?
The Growth Mindset.

It just conveys a simple theory and if you keep it in the back of your mind, you won't be easily defeated when learning anything new.

They have told me that my title will be "Implementation Consultant" but im expected to do sales, integration, support etc.

Thats also mostly because they dont have a team in my country as such. I have only one other co-worker who does everything but doesn't belong from a technical background.

I will be doing everything he does and also handle the technical issues.

Thank you, since i'll be one of two consultants in my country for the said startup, I will need to take up a wide-ranging role.

I have a huge learning curve ahead of me and want to prepare beforehand, so I don't get too overwhelmed.

Yes, thank you for giving a heads up over the security issue especially for a startup working on data privacy

That makes sense, I will surely follow up with a summary of the discussions.

Also, do the dev teams listen to the feedback that you provide to them regarding the features that would be helpful / useful according to the client's suggestions?

I know the job requirements. I was asked to interview with them, thanks to my technical background and presentation skills, I was offered the role.

I'm just asking to make sure I'm prepared. There's always something to learn from other people with significantly more experience.

Yes, it is indeed a huge shift for me. I do prefer still working on Computer Vision / ML / AI projects but my current job is not offering much in terms of growth or learning. Since I dont have that much experience in the domain of Data Science, its currently hard to land such a profile in a good company in my country.

I see this new job as a chance to explore more opportunities while building my AI/ML profile on the side.

What would be some tools or processes that would help me keep track of all the client's concerns and effectively communicate with the clients and make sure there is progress when it comes to implementations?
