I just want to say that I read this whole thread and while I'm not entirely sure i agree with you politically I think this statement is amazing and very well said.
That specific example seems sorta yikes opinion for somebody with hiring power. Aren't people who get targeted by MLMs victims? More importantly, what does that say about how hard they work? Or being a mom?
Not the parent, but my thought is, and their comment seems to suggest, that the sheer density of exciting, new, and groundbreaking CS work is an absolutely energizing thing to read about.
By that logic, isn't taxing lower-income people taking even more money out of the economy, since poorer people spend a much higher percentage of their earnings?
