csmdev··on Ask HN: Where in mainland Europe would you choose to bootstrap a startup?
Sibiu, Romania.

Awesome mountain range. Great food. Low costs. Very friendly people. And two major hubs nearby with a growing startup culture (Cluj and Bucharest).

csmdev··on Ask HN: Should higher education be expensive?
There are no strong arguments for hypocrisy.

The only people who support the higher fee are the ones who already benefited from the lower fee.

You won't hear a student or young person saying: "Yes, I want to pay more to get an education". It's always the old conservative people who eat the cake and want to have it too.

csmdev··on Ask HN: Why don't more apps use peer to peer networking?
It's because startups rarely have time and resources to create a solid infrastructure from the beginning. Easy and simple are preferred. The product needs to be launched and validated as fast as possible.

So by the time a product becomes successful, it's core is already using inefficient solutions. And very few companies upgrade them because the effort is not really worth it business-wise.

If we would have been driven by real solutions instead of money, then P2P would probably be king. Direct communication everywhere.

csmdev··on Ask HN: What to do when the .com is too expensive?
Find another one.

Don't get fixated on things. A business must evolve and adapt in order to succeed. If you are stubborn about a simple name, the web domain is the least of your worries.

csmdev··on Is it possible to post a project both on Kickstarter and Indiegogo?
Don't half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing.

When your attention is split on two different and identical campaigns, both of them will fail. Choose one and make it count.

csmdev··on Show HN: Completely native bug tracker
It's only a temporary targeting strategy. We found that people tend to be dismissive when their favorite features are not supported, even though the product is young. So we tailored our texts and descriptions based on the features we currently have.

We do know that different people like different things. And that each version control software has its advantages and disadvantages. This is why asitrack will support both Mercurial and Git in the near future.

But we had to start somewhere and we chose Subversion. And for now nothing works better because it's the only one we support. :)
