crises-luff-6b··on Flock cameras track more than your license plate, and they're spreading fast
There is no expectation of privacy in public. It's really that simple.
crises-luff-6b··on New York Times, AP, Newsmax and others say they won't sign new Pentagon rules
About effing time! Anyone else have a security clearance? It's ridiculous that on the front page of literally every major newspaper there are least a handful of examples of felonious leaks of literally Confidential military intelligence from "unnamed sources". Literally each instance of that is a potential & likely felony.

Those leakers are committing actual crimes. People here need a healthy dose of reality.

The answer NYC schools have come to is to relax /TEACHER/ basic knowledge requirements: https://www.newyorker.com/news/annals-of-education/the-teach...

Without bonus points, DEI-hires at the school would not survive; these racist school districts need a way to ensure these lousy teachers create entire generations of people hostile to learning! The whole system needs to have an emergency cut over to vouchers.. $27k/year/pupil in NYS to get a teacher that looks like me but is functionally illiterate.

These public teachers aren't heroes, they are actively keeping us behind with their pro-union/anti-student behaviors.

Why are these researchers allowed to keep their data private for their future benefit? The data generated here should be part of the public domain.

---

How about at the Library of Congress or National Archives? Just create a `nih-GR12345-2025-05-31.torrent` for all the data which would offer lots of benefits:

- small network traffic for LOC/NA to seed - American-skin-in-the-game to share the publicly funded data - more eyes on the prize, the "FOSS" case for data

I think public data would also help all of us, collectively, to lead us out of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replication_crisis

Why do these researchers get to benefit from patents and other intellectual property generated using the public money? The IP generated here should immediately enter the public domain.

GPL & Copyleft are pretty anarchocapitalist as applied to ideas.

It's been a few decades since I read it, but Free Software, Free Society is pretty clear about its political intent.
