Waymo claims they will cost somewhere in the 150k range.
All in all, I would say that the quality of the code depends on how close we are at the moment to shipping.
Early in my career I lost a job at a startup and it also shook me up. I say "lost" because I asked if I was fired or laid off and they said I could call it whatever I wanted lol.
But yeah, basically, the head of the company had an inhuman work ethic and expected the same from his employees. I got in trouble for leaving work at 10pm on a Friday. I got in trouble for coming in late on the weekend because I was doing laundry. I got in trouble for spending time with my friends on my birthday (on a Saturday).
Basically, startups can be extremely unprofessional so if you get fired by a startup, it's no big deal.
So what I would suggest is to focus on getting home. If you have to borrow money from family or friends or whatever, that's what you do.
So sort of. The virus existed somewhere before the versions sampled in the seafood market, yes. It's possible that it existed in the seafood market but was not sampled there.

It harder to communicate with coworkers since you can't just stroll by their desk to talk.
It's harder to do certain parts of my job because of dedicated hardware that lives in the office and operating it remotely is not nearly as good.

Strange that he's not.
It sounds like instead of doing the job they hired him to do, he was spending his time arguing about BLM. I mean expressing his opinion is one thing but if it's to the point that his presence is an overall negative for the company, he should be fired.
I mean this guy knew he'd be fired if he kept doing what he was doing and chose to get fired, so it's hard to have any sympathy for him.
It's like if someone goes to work for Fox News and spends all their time arguing with everyone at the company about how Democrats are great and Republicans are evil, they will get fired too.
If they are your friends, you can tell them about how their stories make you feel. If they don't care, then maybe you need new friends.
