Sweden’s model shows that you can keep your economy open and reasonably manage the disease. People who are going to die are the elderly by enlarge. That is sad. However they would die soon enough due to their age and pre existing issues. Why sacrifice the economy for the elderly’s two years while harming the next generation by poor remote education and harming the current adults due to destroyed economic activity?
Further if we spend money on thorium you don’t have much waste at all. In fact you can use your current waste as the medium to kickstart the thorium reaction.
Solar and chemical storage requires poisonous materials that will leech into the ground water.
You can then scale this across multiple machines as necessary. The benefit of such a design is that your team only needs to learn on technology not many. You don’t need to know redis, postgres and Neo4j to derive the same benefits.
What we need is to ban cooking at home. Government soup kitchens. All consumption needs to be documented and controlled.
Think about universal healthcare and alcohol. How much money is spent on alcohol related issues? The best answer is to ban its sale. Same for tobacco. Enough people have shown then are unable or unwilling to do the right thing. As a result junk food, booze and smokes need to go the way of freedom of speech. We need to ban them.

Why have them control health? They've shown they are incompetent with Medicare (look at the waste, fraud, abuse, and anger by doctors due to red tape).
Why not have the States set the wealth tax? Be like Switzerland. The cantons and municipals set the wealth tax.
Ultimately, for me, this entire topic throws into stark relief the fact that the Federal government needs to be brought to heel. It is too large. Too incompetent. Too impossible. Look at the EU (the closest thing in the West to the US by population and economic scope). The EU doesn't set an EU wealth tax. They do not set an EU health service. They set regulatory requirements that the individual countries (from a GDP perspective equal to US States) implement.
If the Klan attacks people, they can freely be shot. If the Klan parades around in their sheets, meh.
I agree with your freedom of association. My only note would be that removing people from the means of financial transactions is the same as limiting speech.
I extend speech so far to include calls to violence. Then you know who to watch and who to protect. Hiding this does nothing but make intel harder to get. You can't try to prevent radicalization, because you've pushed it so far out of the light, it might as well be a mole. They'll still eat the roots of your modern democracy, but you'll be surprised.
