I wonder if from a cost perspective, they actually benefited from doing this. $500 million to make people buy newer iPhones. Wouldn't be surprised if they did the math here to justify the cost of a lawsuit.
This one does make sense. I haven't read it yet, but I always write the full year. For 2020, if you abbreviate it as just 20, adding two more digits allows anyone to fake a future date into 79 years (2021, 2022.. 2099) etc However in the past, this would have been avoided since abbreviating 2019 as 19 and adding two digits would move you into the past which wont make sense always.
Yet another example of Megacorp attempting to swallow smaller fish (Tableau), which showed a great example of leading the market with something innovative and high quality. I haven't used PowerBI, but I have a feeling already that this is going to work great for Microsoft.
Meh it's perfectly designed. They want you to stop using a wallet. The ultimate goal of the physical card is to kill the wallet, other cards and eventually itself to be replaced by just the phone.
It's exactly apples and oranges being compared here. Languages and libraries or framework overhead is nothing compared to the toll of Big oh complexity. In fact the former doesn't even get multiplied that much as your input is pretty much constant. You start your application once unlike the input to your npow3 algorithm taking in a massive dataset. Also languages can make development more productive, which again is debatable but the slowness isn't comparable to Big O complexity. I am all in for leaner and efficient languages or stacks but I can live with bloated languages as opposed to inefficient algorithms.
Cant wait to try this on an international flight of 14 hrs. Emirates only gives 2hrs of connectivity/20mb, so will have to do a lot of resets and on an android phone as well.
You are indeed lucky to find a partner who fees the exact same way as you about saving and having kids. Is the 150k joint savings or your individual savings per year?
Are you guys hiring? Wondering what kind of experience you require. I am a backend engineer with experience using these tools but not much building them but would love to work on such things.
Interesting. However, I would consider some income stream as passive if it there is a net positive gain without as much effort as my main job (maybe upto 10%, ~4 hrs per week). By that measure, even the income from investments can be counted as passive and hence it is not impractical to reach a point where I am earning half as much as I make in total from passive sources. (Not that I do, just a hypothetical situation).
