coinfused··on How to draw an outline in a video game
It’s a recreation from a panel of Tintin The Black Island!

Very nice! I'm wondering, what made you decide to start your own database from scratch instead of (re-)using and/or extending other databases/APIs (such as trefle, or the data sources that trefle uses)?
coinfused··on Being picky about a CSS reset for fun
Same!

Really wanted to start from scratch and I'm just using vanilla html/css/js for

Haven't found the need yet for any frameworks.

Great video again by Sebastian Lague.
coinfused··on Designing a cursor for augmented reality
Thanks! It's been a long, iterative process to get it to this state.
coinfused··on Designing a cursor for augmented reality
A few years ago I had to make an AR cursor for a mobile app. This post goes over some design considerations for such a cursor.
coinfused··on What has your personal website or blog deprived you from?
I first used basic google analytics but found it too invasive/heavy so I switched over to https://www.goatcounter.com/.

For comments, most solutions were also too heavy, paid or had ads, but I finally found https://giscus.app/.

So while I did add these 2 features, I'm happy with those variants that I managed to find.

An article on how I programmed a chess engine in C++ from scratch using (magic) bitboards. Explains how I dealt with handling leaping pieces, sliding pieces, pseudo-legal moves, en-passant, castling, check evasions, move selection and alpha-beta pruning. I also explain how I tested for correctness.
coinfused··on Creating a path tracer from scratch in Rust
How I made my first path tracer from scratch in Rust for a University course. Explains how I went from basic naïve path tracing to explicit light sampling and BRDF importance sampling. I also added different materials such as dielectrics (glass) with caustics and metals. Finally, I added anti-aliasing, a bounding volume hierarchy (BVH), environment lights, .obj model loading and texture support.

Thanks! I'll try to play around with it a bit. This post is by far the longest of mine so far so it's a good stress test page.
coinfused··on Stylized Water Shader
Glad you like it! Built with eleventy and pure css/html. I'm always trying to improve the performance and I want to make sure the focus is on the content.

Interesting! Indeed no APNGS, only MP4, png and WebM. Will try to see if I can do some more profiling but I am very new to making websites. Using eleventy as a static site generator and then doing some image compression also.
