coin··on Supreme Court permits states to use SAVE database for citizenship checks
The States decide who they send to Congress to represent them. The Federal government has no right to interfere in how the States makes this determination.

> Do you mean that foreign nationals voting in American elections

In minuscule insignificant amounts. See The Heritage Foundation's own findings.

coin··on LG denies TV spying claims, says tracking and snooping concerns 'not true'
Why would anyone connect their TV to the Internet? It’s been known for years that it spies, although maybe not to this extent. Or are these TVs auto connecting open WiFi or the neighbor’s Xfinity WiFi?
coin··on The car industry A/B tested selling a car with and without CarPlay
American cars then were basically disposable cars - you drive them until about 80,000 miles at which point they are practically falling apart, effective a beater. Bob Lutz was the king of marketing low quality cars as "fun to drive".
coin··on The largest electric aircraft just flew [video]
Yes it's super misleading. All the marketing and title is calling it "electric" where in reality it's a hybrid electric-gas airplane with a 125 mile electric range. Aviation uses nautical miles yet they advertise 125 statute miles so the number seems bigger (125 statute miles = 108.62 nautical miles).

It would be like Toyota marketing the Prius as an electric vehicle, then buried in their presentation sneaking in the gas propulsion. Same with Chrysler Pacifica (32 mile electric range).

coin··on Librepods: AirPods liberated
"Audiophiles don't use their equipment to listen to music. Audiophiles use your music to listen to their equipment."

AirPods makes it easier to listen to music across multiple devices. They sound reasonable enough for people to enjoy their music. They enable people to enjoy their music. This is why they are so popular.

coin··on You already have a Git server
> This is a nice way to work on server-side files without SSH lag or error-prone copying.

Are people really copying files to the servers then committing there?

coin··on Waymo says can't avoid bike lanes because riders want to be dropped off in them
"it's too hard" should never be an excuse to break the law
coin··on I love my dumb watches
Interesting, I’m the opposite. My phone is always easily accessible, whereas the watch is under my long sleeve shirt which is under a couple layers of coats, so it’s more of a hassle to make it available to tap.
coin··on The 49MB web page
And https://www.berkshirehathaway.com/ loads blinding fast
coin··on The 49MB web page
Stepping back, it's pretty ridiculous that I need to download executable code, often bloated, solely to view read-only content. Just render the thing on the backend and send it to the client.

coin··on NASA's WB-57 crash lands at Houston
Article makes no mention of “crash”. Please don’t make sensationalized edits of the title.
coin··on Dollar-stores overcharge customers while promising low prices
Michigan in the 90s had a similar rule. Customer gets 10x the overcharge (up to $5 max). I can guarantee you they fixed the price immediately.

Where I live there’s no such rule I can tell you no one is correcting the price when I point out that I got overcharged (they usually shrug with “it does that sometimes”).

coin··on CBP is monitoring US drivers and detaining those with suspicious travel patterns
> a right which can't be taken away

It's not licensed until it is. Cars and airplanes were once unlicensed.

coin··on How long can it take to become a US citizen?
Those words in the Constitution are just words. They can be interpreted away by the Supreme Court.
coin··on How long can it take to become a US citizen?
> The odds of a change in the constitution are pretty low

The constitution need not change, the Supreme Court can just change their interpretation of it

coin··on How long can it take to become a US citizen?
> Nobody's human rights are being actively violated because they're not allow to immigrate here.

Many people’s rights are being violated recently while enforcing immigration law

coin··on Digital ID, a new way to create and present an ID in Apple Wallet
> This is the paranoia I don't get. These are not things that are going to happen in the US

Many brown looking citizens carry their passport so as to not be excessively detained by ICE.

So it’s not a built-in command as the titles eluded

coin··on Microsoft is plugging more holes that let you use Windows 11 without MS account
Mac costs more but are easier to support from an IT perspective, at least that's what many say.
coin··on Shoplifters could soon be chased down by drones
It’s still limited by the local government’s willingness to pursue and prosecute these types of crimes
coin··on Why your outdoorsy friend suddenly has a gummy bear power bank
> 20k mAh

Or just write it as 20 Ah (not you, the reddit poster). I suspect people have no concept of SI prefixes. They know that k = one thousand but are unaware that milli is one thousandth.

coin··on Why your outdoorsy friend suddenly has a gummy bear power bank
> Watthours is more important than amp hours

I'd go a step further and say that amp hours is meaning less since voltage is not specified. The only valid battery capacity unit of measure is watt hours. While most battery packs use a single 3.7 lithium ion battery, Apple's first gen MagSafe battery pack used two internal batteries in series, throwing off everyone's amp hours only comparison.
