codesuela··on InstallMonetizer quietly starts editing website, privacy policy
I'm pretty sure it is also illegal to distribute software in such a fashion in the EU
codesuela··on Kim Dotcom's New Mega Encrypted Cloud Storage
you forgot Wuala, which has a client for every OS (Java).

codesuela··on Write Gambling Software, Go to Prison
Serious question, whats there to backdoor short of bundling a trojan with the official client? All transactions are out in the open in real time. Edit, went on to Google and found this: http://nerdr.com/shutting-down-bitcoin-really-taking-down-th...
codesuela··on NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor details leaked
I max out my 1 GB of RAM on my S3 easily when switching between Spotify, Whats app and Chrome with 10 Tabs open. Why do I open 10 tabs on my cell phone? My subway ride to work is about 35 minutes and the timeframe where I have HDSPA is 5 minutes after that no more mobile internet until I get back overground. It's enough for exchanging a few Whats app messages though.

codesuela··on Root exploit on Exynos
Holy crap, tried this on my S 3 too (custom rom Cyanogenmod derived MIUI) with the same result. I guess chmoding it to the proper permissions (0600) will cause all kinds of different issues, won't it?
codesuela··on Samsung's A15 Chromebook Loaded With Ubuntu Is Crazy Fast
Probably not unless you cloudsource your project files

codesuela··on FizzBuzz Still Works
Does someone else have a few programming tests on hand aside from FizzBuzz? Also InterviewStreet ( https://www.interviewstreet.com/ ) has a nice collection of problems of varying degrees of difficulty. Quite handy if you want to "prepare" for an interview.
codesuela··on Red Bull Stratos Skydive Rescheduled for today
How much bandwidth do 5.4 mio viewers consume? Can someone give me a number?
codesuela··on Apple's tribute to Steve Jobs, one year on.
Direct link to video: http://movies.apple.com/media/us/stevejobs/stevejobs-memoria...

I used Movie Player to open it (Movie -> open location)

codesuela··on Is it true that "not everyone can be a programmer"?
Even then I would argue that everyone can learn the basic structure of a poem and start writing one.
codesuela··on Google Motorola faces German ban after Apple victory
is Germany becoming the Eastern District of Texas of Europe?
codesuela··on GoDaddy's DNS Service is Down
> implying this isn't just a random fake account > implying there is a spokesperson for Anonymous > implying there is a trace of credibility to this claim
codesuela··on As Heroku Boss Flees to Olive Farm, Where's the Platform Cloud Going?
This article makes it sound as if Heroku is about to be shut down but being the leader in PaaS offerings (at least for non enterprise type environments) I highly doubt this is going to happen. I can't imagine the stress Byron Sebastian has been through and I think taking a break is more then legitimate
codesuela··on Ruby, PHP, MySQL, Perl, Free Hosting for geeks
FWIW you can get the ClearDB or Xeround addon (MySQL) for free on Heroku.
codesuela··on Bitcoin Mining in Plain English
Something that I still don't quite get: Who adjusts the difficulty. As far as I understand there still is a central server somewhere who broadcasts the difficulty and awards Bitcoins which to me kind of clashes with the distributed nature of Bitcoins.
codesuela··on HBO cuts the cord, brings streaming-only service to Europe
Let's get a P2P network started. Americans get BBC and HBO, we get Hulu and Netflix
codesuela··on DMCA takedowns GitHub has received
maybe it was an online pre-interview question that you get to solve at home within a given timeframe?
codesuela··on Show & Thank HN: my friday night project turns into a venture
Slightly OT but I just wanted to point out that this stands in strong contrast to the "Why I now, unfortunately, hate Hacker News.." post and that's great. Other than that: congrats OP!
codesuela··on Chinese dev steals US HTML5 Game engine, US hosts won't close down the copy
Carbon copying another persons work without putting in a minuscule amount of effort is different from taking a proven business model and rolling it out in a different market. It's not like the Samwers steal the sourcecode and design put a new name on it and call it a day. There have real offices, real engineers, real designers, real marketers. You might think cloning a business model is despicable but there is a real effort involved in executing it. Not to mention that unlike in the case of this article the Samwers don't go into already preoccupied markets but rather aim to tap new ones.
codesuela··on Israel sperm banks find quality is plummeting
The solution is fairly easy: start importing it
codesuela··on CEO Fights Feds: Save Our Balls
I was thinking maybe one inside you would react to outside metal like say keys or a belt or a metal chair/desk
codesuela··on CEO Fights Feds: Save Our Balls
Is it enough if you swallow one or do you have to ingest two or more?

Edit, found something:

>If more than one magnet was swallowed, it is highly unlikely that they will pass without surgical removal because of their tendency to bind together across membranes.

codesuela··on Two More Patients HIV-Free After Bone Marrow Transplants
This isn't just an issue of wealth. To do a bone marrow transplant you have to find compatible bone marrow, fry your own (very nasty) and then live in isolation (as in an isolated room) till the new marrow kicks in. And that's the best case.
codesuela··on Is Berlin the new home for tech start-up business? [video]
>The internet in Germany is borderline third world quality

that may be true for rural Germany but I'm writing this from a 100 MBbit cable connection which costs me 40 EUR. You can also get 50 Mbit DSL for 35 EUR p.m. (both including a telephone flatrate)

codesuela··on Anti-Powerpoint Party
So the alternative to PowerPoint is a flipchart huh? At least it's not proprietary.
codesuela··on What are the most intellectually stimulating websites you know of?
I'm shocked that no one has mentioned http://youarenotsosmart.com/

> The central theme of You Are Not So Smart is that you are unaware of how unaware you are. There is branch of psychology and an old-but-growing body of research with findings that suggest you have little idea why you act or think the way you do. Despite this, you continue to create narratives to explain your own feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and these narratives – no matter how inaccurate – become the story of your life.

codesuela··on Bitcoinica MtGox account compromised
I would've thought that no one would keep using Bitconica after their first major breach but here I am, shocked by the fact that people still kept trusting them with their Bitcoins
