codersfocus··on Getting your hands dirty is good for you
If you have tonsilitis / tonsil stones, that means you have a biofilm there and it’s a very common place for that to happen.

Regular mouthwash and even antibiotics won’t get rid of it, but a solution of vinegar, lemon juice and salt will.

I don’t understand what your question has to do with op but I’ll explain it to you.

Religion and language are very similar, both in how they are transmitted and how they shift.

The latter systematizes thought and the former emotions.

Language is encoded by vocal utterances, characters, hand gestures, etc…

Religion by rituals, stories, customs. The purpose of it is to handle the common emotional needs of man. The starting point is the grief that comes from a dead person -> you need a ritual to handle the body and process emotions.

Next you need to handle who has sex with whom as that is another big area of emotional turbulence in man.

Then relationships between parent and child. And so on…

Write it down and get people to follow it, you have a religion. Which will shift and split over time as does language.

It can be completely distinct from the origin of everything though many choose to incorporate deities into their stories to give weight and meaning, this harnesses the inherent respect for father figures people tend to be born with to achieve this.

How can music be on steaming platforms if the owner who should collect this doesn't consent to it? If it's their label posting it, shouldn't the label be handling renumeration?

Or is this for music distributed by DistroKid, CDBaby etc. before 2018?

codersfocus··on Aristotle quotes on virtue, knowledge, and happiness
Specifically, meaning making. The same situation can be perceived as negative, neutral, or positive all depending on how the individual interprets it.

The classic example that's a bit wrong is a glass of water half empty or half full.

The true optimist doesn't see it as half full, he sees it as full. Half with water, half with air (being grateful for the air as well.)

The neutral person sees it as half full, and the depressive sees it as half empty.

It actually sounds like you pretty much got it, except for #4. The intention was to show that you can use free text to write a cadence, there was the blue writing caret to indicate that. But it might be too subtle.

And for #6, that's how the idea actually started. I asked myself "what would happen if I prompted myself like an AI?" and it turns out, it was a great experience.

codersfocus··on Apple won't let me show my app
It definitely has a free trial, and yeah it prints 3 tools:

* a timeline which pulls in your calendar (you can use this to timebox as well as timetrack.)

* a daily list of prompts, which are scheduled using recur rules (which you can generate using natural language.) a prompt is useful for lots of things, which is the hard part of explaining it

* a list of your reminders for the reminders app, which can also work like a lighter version of prompts and/or todos.

Basically this app combines digital and paper planning and journaling into one page that's easier to carry and more useful than anything else (imo.)

The live store version is the initial app, i.e. those screenshots are the ones to be replaced by the ones in the blog post.

I agree the old first image (with the hands pulling out the page) could be better (in terms of clarity) than what I am going with for the new launch (just the plan next to a phone.) My thinking was the new one being a bit more vague to catch someone's eye as they browse, so they stop and look.

Thermal printers are way too niche I think, plus the PFAS exposure on that paper is supposed to be insane, and aren't they much smaller plus harder to write on with a pen?

I think it might be better to get rid of the organ *donation* system entirely.

Organ transplant surgery costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, yet donors get zilch, which is completely unfair when everyone else in the value chain gets paid.

If instead it was "allow my organs to be sold for my estate" I think the supply of organs would greatly increase, which would be win/win.

codersfocus··on Productive Procrastination
I think novelty-seeking is a symptom rather than cause of procrastination.

If you're in an impulsive mode, that's what causes procrastination. Being impulsive will obviously lead to novelty seeking.

Here's how I model the action loop (image at the top): https://wisedayplanner.com/blog/action-loop-impulsive-vs-eff...

There's a post that says illness killed some important leaders (who were friends) on both sides of the camp. Once these leaders died, the two groups realized they didn't have anything in common with each other so they're fighting.
codersfocus··on Marc Andreessen is wrong about introspection
There's a balance to be had between introspection and taking action. People tend to have a bias for one or the other (action bias vs thinking bias.)

Those who act would do well to think a bit more, and those who think a lot need help taking action.

I recently launched an app that can help in either case (Wiseday on the app store.)

It lets you print a daily page that can both be used to introspect, as well as an execution aid to help you actually take consistent action towards your goals.

This looks neat, not exactly sure how useful such a tiny space for each day would be by itself.

Does anyone know whether it makes sense to setup solar arrays closer to users or to concentrate them in sunny places and send them throughout the country?

People absolutely can control quality. A simple example is handwriting, I can write chicken scratch or something neater if I slow down. Working longer on many creative pursuits will improve the quality, by experimenting with ideas.
