code51··on How An AI math breakthrough ignited a controversy
So you believe they're like "solve navier-stokes make me rich make no mistakes" despite being mathematicians of top ability? Occam's Razor for sure.
code51··on Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B
Also consider:

Nvidia is investing $1 billion in Poolside and paying $6 billion to license its technology and hire most of its engineers.

They are the elephant in the room, with their CDS sky-high. Sounds like they are opinionated on the whole AI thing, trying to drive this with open-source models, countering OpenAI using Jalapeno.

Looks zero-sum for the players.

All the while Google silently planning to get milk from all layers.

code51··on Being ambitious and being a dad
Or the dream of keeping a stable job.
code51··on Stripe will reportedly acquire OpenRouter for $7B+
OpenRouter should first fix their support.

No support exists when things go wrong!

code51··on DeepSeek V4 Pro 0813
OpenRouter is a place with zero support.

Suddenly get a big debt on your account with nobody to respond.

As an early adopter of OpenRouter, I'm afraid they are in shambles.

code51··on Show HN: Open-source engine running Gemma 4 26B in 2 GB RAM on any M-series Mac
You don't know whether King Charles or 42 is the answer to "the Question"

my 2c on King Charles vs 42.

code51··on The Dark Night of Mathematics
You can enjoy the beauty of nature, especially mathematics, if you're alive and well enough to focus.
code51··on Ask HN: Is anyone using the A2A protocol?
You mean Google doesn't understand prompt caching, latency or token costs?

Or Google teams fail to communicate for such things?

code51··on Midjourney Medical
What does "more useful" mean in this context? Can you solve gas-filled bowels with the mode difference?
code51··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (June 2026)
I'm curious how you're addressing any legal aspects about this:

> No black-box AI. Every candidate gets a detailed match receipt explaining exactly why they scored an 85%, complete with contextual evidence from their CV.

HR teams like to play dead when they actually have a file with detailed feedback on a candidate. Yet, they choose to keep that to themselves out of baseless legal fear. I wonder how that works out when somebody proves a company's filter consistently proves a specific bias gets rejected systematically.

and

> Automated assignment validation

which is particularly troubling for devs: companies scaling assignments as first screen. How do you get around "AI evaluating AI" loops especially about assignments ?

code51··on CEOs who think AI replaces their employees are just bad CEOs
Bad CEO but still CEO. That's the thing.

Cost-saving is quite an easy idea to sell.

code51··on xAI is looking more like a datacentre REIT than a frontier lab
That's just inflation (yeah, the global one) and demand at play.

Let's not mix up depreciation of real value vs USD price (which is arbitrary, plus government controlled)

code51··on Gemini CLI will stop working from June 18, 2026
Google Takeout doesn't work properly for exporting Gemini chats.

Antigravity locks your chats locally behind .pb files.

Nothing to export your very own data.

OpenAI is best at personal data export. Claude has something at least, despite being quirky. Yet, Google looks very purpose-built to not give anything back.

code51··on Show HN: We missed Winamp, so we built an audio player for macOS
using it for years. stable as hell. and, what subscription? I just install and run with it. free forever
code51··on Show HN: We missed Winamp, so we built an audio player for macOS
but there is Vox.
code51··on Show HN: Explore color palettes inspired by 3000 master painter artworks
Why do I only see Claude in this UI? It seems Claude is picking up the very same color scheme for many webpage building requests.
code51··on Amateur armed with ChatGPT solves an Erdős problem
Why on earth is nobody here talking about the sudden jump to use von Mangoldt function?

The reasoning trace never types Λ, never types "von Mangoldt", and never invokes ∑_{q|n} Λ(q) = log n.

There is a clear discontinuity at play. I remember an article on this, maybe a comment by Terence Tao himself, seen here, but cannot find it.

code51··on Google has the same AI adoption curve as John Deere
Anything from Steve Yegge must come with an AI bias disclaimer now.
code51··on Sonnet 4.6 Elevated Rate of Errors
Exactly this. OpenAI is running huge workloads silently, without anybody patting their back.
code51··on Kagi Translate now supports LinkedIn Speak as an output language
Input:

  i ate a cookie
Output:

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just successfully completed the consumption of a high-quality, artisanal cookie. This experience reinforced the importance of consistent self-reward and maintaining a growth-oriented fuel strategy. Grateful for the opportunity to recharge and optimize my performance for the challenges ahead. #GrowthMindset #PersonalDevelopment #FuelingSuccess
Amazing.

Oh, tried with a horse.

I am thrilled to announce that I have successfully completed the challenge of consuming an entire horse.

This journey taught me so much about resilience, dedication, and the importance of setting audacious goals. It wasn't just about the meal; it was about pushing past my perceived limits and embracing a growth mindset.

  Key takeaways:
  1. Scalability is everything.
  2. Persistence pays off when tackling large-scale projects.
  3. Fueling your ambition requires thinking outside the box.
Grateful for the support of my network as I continue to hunger for the next big opportunity! #GrowthMindset #Leadership #Resilience #Disruption #NextLevel
code51··on Anthropic officially bans using subscription auth for third party use
Skills is a generic construct. System prompt is generic as well. Subagents, AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md etc. these are generic, "please care for my instruction" kind of constructs without any real guarantee to close gaps.

Tool is generic (CC vs OpenCode) Ecosystem is already same everywhere.

I don't understand what's the point.

code51··on Water 'Bankruptcy' Era Has Begun for Billions, Scientists Say
Physical losses in undermaintained water grids are the biggest cause for the issue. Yet, economic downturn creates a vicious circle: governments avoid infra spend because of low funds, then agriculture and other economic output gets hit because of water shortage. Lower resource lower will for infra spend. Until you hit the very low: stopping the grid because day zero. At that point, both the grid and city hygiene becomes a mess anyway. Costs build up so much that most governments cannot cope up with it properly.

and this is why you need sane people at the top earliest

code51··on Spotify won court order against Anna's Archive, taking down .org domain
Recommending new material involves risk. Once these companies go big and mature, they hate risk. They hate risk in hiring (taking a chance in people) and they certainly hate risk in algorithms.

I know it's a draft but why on earth people cannot use page formats the same (more or less)?

Material (full page) material material, sources at the end. Simple. Readable.

Material (half page), sources (half page). Material/source. Material/source. Looks quite unreadable to the eye.

code51··on The percentage of Show HN posts is increasing, but their scores are decreasing
Sooner or later this will hit the VCs. Translated into a mass underfunding.

code51··on Ideas are cheap, execution is cheaper
they were not joking but... joking? when big tech is all rolled into a giant ball, wrapped with money and duct tape, it's hard to get these jokes.
