co_dh··on Nim in 2020: A Short Recap
readability <> verbosity
co_dh··on Ask HN: How do I become a shell god?
Read kiss linux's source code: The kiss package manager especially.
co_dh··on New Features in the Fish Shell

The web configuration bring in a hell lot of dependencies. Please make it a separate project.
Also if the readline part can be extracted to a separate executable, then it will be amazing. Imagine a fish like completion with psql.
co_dh··on The largest unknown Bitcoin wallet moved nearly $1B for $0.48 in fees
why Chinese hacker? Discrimination.
co_dh··on Goodbye, Object Oriented Programming
When will the university stop teaching OOP?
co_dh··on Haskell for a New Decade [pdf]
It was google, a bad sample of programmers.
co_dh··on Workman Keyboard Layout (2010)
Can't you just plug 2 keyboards, with 1 of them GMK based?
co_dh··on Running Awk in parallel to process 256M records
I like the idea of using AWK for this. But you can give kdb/q a try. 250M rows is nothing for kdb, and it seemed that you can afford the license.
co_dh··on Joy (Programming Language)
The point of Forth/Joy is that the language is so simple, you don't need compiler. It is a minimum language.
co_dh··on Simula: A VR window manager for Linux
htop at top,my neck.
co_dh··on The 2,500 year old history of why Python’s all([]) returns True
True is the unit of logic and as a monoid. You know math is useful.
co_dh··on Category Theory for Programmers (2014) [pdf]
Unix pipeline a category, with text be object, and executable be morphisim converting text to text(monoid). Forth is a category, with stack as object, functions as morphisim. There are many examples. Best learn from haskell.
co_dh··on Declarative Rendering Pipeline in Nim
I found that the Why Nim part is very interesting.
co_dh··on Escape from System D, episode VI: freedom in sight
I hate things mostly work. Countless of hour of debugging, refactoring on the way.

A system need to be designed first, proved correct first.

co_dh··on If You Can't Buy the Keyboard You Want, Build It Instead
Thank you.
co_dh··on If You Can't Buy the Keyboard You Want, Build It Instead

This(pro) is what I am using now. Cheaper than ergodox ez but more beautiful.

You may need compile QMK yourself because it is flipped as compare to EZ

co_dh··on Generating a Java program with 90% less code
Psql select count(email) from table where name = "foo"

What the hell happened to the world.

co_dh··on Understanding What It's Like to Program in Forth (2008)
http://forth.works/examples/AddingVectors.retro.html

Here is the retro forth version of adding vector that I was talking about.

Tri@ apply function (2+x)on top 3 items. So get address of the 3rd element of c b a ..

co_dh··on Understanding What It's Like to Program in Forth (2008)
That is an unfair comparison. Forth is designed to run on metal, with no os, no stdlibc, no vector. Can any of other language do that?

In fact, by just adding first class function, retro forth makes the code way easier to read.

co_dh··on Buying into the Emacs Platform (2018)
kakoune
co_dh··on Tokyo mechanical keyboard meetup photos
I would switch job for that. Using ergodox with colemak layout.
co_dh··on Retro: A Modern, Pragmatic Forth
I don't know. It's for fun, but I believe I will have trouble to make others to use.
co_dh··on Retro: A Modern, Pragmatic Forth
we are quite similar except I am paid to write q. In fact, I am writing a forth in q now.
co_dh··on Retro: A Modern, Pragmatic Forth
I'd like to say thank you too. I've studied your code many times, and it helps me understand forth finally. I was attracted by colorforth first, which is harder.
co_dh··on We Can Do Better Than SQL
kdb is better than sql.
co_dh··on Sadly, I must say goodbye to Leaf, my programming language
The problem is, your coworker need to modify the generated code.
co_dh··on Keeping a plaintext “did” file
You have only 210 bugs in 15 years?
co_dh··on Keeping a plaintext “did” file
I would call it notes.txt to make it more positive. Bad code is everywhere, and don't let them make you sad.
co_dh··on TerminalView – A terminal inside Sublime Text 3
Do you know Kakoune? I've used a month and like it. Fast, lean, work with other unix tools well, extend by sh,
co_dh··on Vis – A vi-like editor based on Plan 9's structural regular expressions
That's why I like emacs. It has anything you can image. Due to the beauty of elisp, people have fun to write in it, and thus contributed to the ecosystem.
