I get the same as well, instead I get this message, no matter which image I upload: "This is a humorous meme that uses the phrase "one does not get it" in a mocking way. It's a joke about people getting frustrated when they don’t understand the context of a joke or meme."

Not sure why it's not working

clueless··on Spring 83: a draft protocol intended to suggest new ways of relating online
> Spring ’83 doesn’t formalize interactions and relationships. The protocol doesn’t provide any mechanism for replies, likes, favorites, or, indeed, feedback of any kind. Publishers are encouraged to use the full flexibility of HTML to develop their own approaches, inviting readers to respond via email, join a live chat, send a postcard … whatever!

I think this is one of the biggest missing features of this sort of decentralized approach to following/aggregating content. There is so much in the commenting/interaction handling of the current centralized approach that keep people coming back.

This is so embarrassing.. What is this country doing?
clueless··on Gemini Live with camera and screen sharing capabilities
right? not great examples. Here are the kind of prompt examples I would have used instead:

- explain this symbol to me

- what TV show am I watching

- how much is the house I'm looking at worth (bring in geo-location)

- How often should I be watering this plant

- how many calories are in this meal

- what type of car is this

- whats the exact name/type of this screw part

- what are the exact dimensions of this door frame

- what kind of style of art is this

- how often should I be taking this medication

- how many copies has this book sold

- which part of the world is this pic from

clueless··on Gemini Live with camera and screen sharing capabilities
Upvoted. For a couple of weeks now, I added that site as a bookmarked app on my iPhone just to use that Gemini live feature, though I can only use the camera/voice feature (no screen sharing ability on the chrome ios browser afaik). Super weird they are not releasing this feature more officially on iOS

Could this mean training time is generally around 6 month, with 2 month of Q/A?

clueless··on Scoping a Local-First Image Archive
I've been thinking on working on something exactly like this for months and happy to see the work started here.

The big thing I'd love to add is smarter llm based searching ability (using face-detection, lon/lat based location data extracted from photos, overall image description based on AI, etc) similar to how google photo does it.

Now the question is, what local/small llm would be best for this?

clueless··on Kevin Rose, Alexis Ohanian Acquire Digg
Interestingly he talks about wanting to buy Digg with Alexis Ohanian in first episode about 6 month ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJWIrYEm2mo
clueless··on Meta torrented & seeded 81.7 TB dataset containing copyrighted data
Does this mean we are willing to live in a world with less variety of books and authors? meaning only to let those who really want to advance knowledge, and willing to do so with no monetary reward? feels like this would lead to to a slow down in knowledge production. It's not like there was a healthy and vigorous book publishing industry pre creation of copyright. We're ok with going back to that era?
clueless··on Meta Project Aria - Smart Glasses Research Kit
Seems like they've been pushed to release this as open source alternatives are catching up, if not passing them by [1] ...

clueless··on Meta torrented & seeded 81.7 TB dataset containing copyrighted data
Right, all this talk about getting rid of copyright and no one is talking about what should replace it? how would we we incentives people to write good books? to pour 1000s of hours of their time to produce new knowledge?
clueless··on Meta torrented & seeded 81.7 TB dataset containing copyrighted data
yep, pretty much.

reminds me of the classic joke: a man walking down a street, stops and asks another person if they know what time it is. The person responds: I'm sorry as I don't have a watch on me, but you see that car parked over there? when it explodes, it should be 5pm

clueless··on WhisperNER: Unified Open Named Entity and Speech Recognition
"The model processes audio files and simultaneously applies NER to tag or mask specific types of sensitive information directly within the transcription pipeline. Unlike traditional multi-step systems, which leave data exposed during intermediary processing stages, Whisper-NER eliminates the need for separate ASR and NER tools, reducing vulnerability to breaches."
clueless··on [dead]
After watching Surveilled on HBO last night (which was an expectedly overly sensationalist documentary with Ronan Farrow as the self centered host), they showed a security researcher wrapping a laptop with aluminum foil to stop signal from reaching it. Asking google about it was not helpful.
clueless··on Show HN: A People Search Engine with Face Recognition
doesn't seem to be doing that. It's essentially a glorified google reverse image where the input is a face, then it probably uses the metadata gleaned from that search to look up further info for that person. Will it be accurate? we will have to see

clueless··on Hezbollah hand-held radios detonate across Lebanon, sources say
"According to Sky News Arabia; Mossad was able to Inject a Compound of Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN) into the Batteries of the New Encrypted Pagers that Hezbollah began using around February, before they even arrived in the Hands of Hezbollah Members, allowing them to Remotely Overheat and Detonate the Lithium Battery within the Device."
