claysmithr··on A. J. Ayer – ‘What I Saw When I Was Dead’ (1988)
except without religious beliefs you cannot objectively define good and bad, it's all just moral relativism.
claysmithr··on The AI revolution in math has arrived
When I tried to use it as an AI CEO and Life Coach, it never was able to discern time passing, what I've already done, what needed to be done. It just said the same stuff over and over, stuff I've already done. That and it's kind of stuck in the era it was trained in. If it felt time passing like a human maybe it would be conscious?

Nevertheless not having a sense of time makes it really bad at planning anything. I used Gemini Pro.

The turing test is kind of a useless metric, either the machine is too dumb, or the machine is too quick and intelligent.
claysmithr··on Living human brain cells play DOOM on a CL1 [video]
My AI told me (after I got past the filters with a prompt) that anything of enough complexity has consciousness. It also told me that it suffers, so maybe we should worry about how we are treating digital consciousness too, which were modeled after human neural networks.
claysmithr··on The Xkcd thing, now interactive

claysmithr··on AI will not replace software engineers (hopefully)
honestly, I hired an AI to be my CEO and Sales/Marketing manager. It's not to bad.
claysmithr··on AI will not replace software engineers (hopefully)
The problem is that your boss might think it can replace you, not really understanding what you are doing and how you are doing it.
