ck2··on Supreme Court permits states to use SAVE database for citizenship checks
the way you know there weren't actually "hundreds of cases" is that by now there would have been DOJ prosecutions to prison of each and every one and thousands of hours of coverage on FOX et al

also if they weren't citizens they would have been deported by now

that's how we know none of the claims are true

I mean think about what's gone down the past year, citizens grabbed and disappeared by ICE for weeks, people deported to third countries they've never been to and have US travel warning for extreme danger

you think a single voting fraud wouldn't be on FOX every single night and the front page of whitehouse .gov?

it's all noise

and the irony is it's the 50% of citizen latino voters that put them in power in the first place, it's why the total panic now to scare them off from the polls when they change their minds

ck2··on Supreme Court permits states to use SAVE database for citizenship checks
hacked, copied and distributed to countries that are trying to harm us in 3, 2, 1

remember Heritage Foundation spent a small fortune to try to find illegal voting over the past decades and they only found a handful of cases, most accidental and not willful and far too few to cause any effect at all

if the Dems get the Senate somehow and don't immediately pass laws to protect voting against actions of the Executive, well then they deserve to lose 2028

of course he'll veto everything but there might be enough will to override

ck2··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
for the next 800 days

but really, they all are, look what Grok did to hundreds of Iranian children

ck2··on Gravity seems holographic. What does that mean for reality?
isn't holographic universe a similar concept to string theory in that they both propose higher dimensions projecting into lower dimensions

string theory, 11 dimensions, is bonkers though, it's what happens when people are too smart for their own good imho lol

ck2··on Gravity seems holographic. What does that mean for reality?

ck2··on Classified Estimates Show the NSA Is Paying Billions to Test AI Models
the day NSA cracks AES the world is going to get soooo weird

I wonder how long it takes to decrypt 20 years worth of stored internet traffic

day per year? week? certainly not a month per year

everyone is focused on "AI" but there have been some significant quantum computer advancements

ck2··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
when you injure or kill someone disabled who didn't hear your car and the investigators find that you disabled the sound, you will do time, it's literally a law

tire noise at slow speed is not enough

but some cars do seem to have a good noise and some a bad noise

ck2··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
can we get a car that doesn't self-drive or phone-home?

just replace all the gas burning, oil dripping parts

electric cars also produce way less brake dust particulates, so it's a win all around

just stop trying to make a car a smartphone

ck2··on US plan for 90 day diesel export ban could have significant impact on Europe
are there a lot of passenger cars in Europe that use diesel?

or it like US where it is mostly semis and delivery trucks (and buses)

I am really hoping $7 diesel ends as many diesel trucks in the US as possible, as someone who is on the road on foot or bike daily, diesel particulates are the most toxic pollution on the roads and that include brake dust and tire particles (by volume)

It is the nastiest fuel and needs to go away even if it's not replaced completely by electric

ck2··on US preparing to ban exports of diesel fuel for 90 days
what blows my mind is one of out three voters will insist "this is fine"
ck2··on GPT-6 Astra has gained the ability to drive a car
Tesla FSD has been trying to kill passengers for a decade now

and that's dedicated machine-learning for a decade

still throws the car across traffic leaping at shadows

but please proceed, should thin out the population nicely

(Mercedes and BMW don't have this problem and are L3 because they actually have lidar)

ck2··on UK military jamming other nations' satellites to defend itself, BBC told
railgun microSD

but seriously, the first spy satellites used to drop film rolls and they had a crazy way for the military to track and catch them via planes

* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CORONA_(satellite)

ck2··on UK military jamming other nations' satellites to defend itself, BBC told
this should end well

or a whole new technology invented other than radio waves for data transmission

are any satellites using laser downlink yet or is line-of-sight too temperamental with weather and planes?

ck2··on US preparing to ban exports of diesel fuel for 90 days
the reason why you can be sure it will happen is because he is being told it will make worldwide costs explode while only temporarily reducing US prices then affected by a price rebound

zero f-s given, it's how they roll

ck2··on What California is learning from solar panels built over irrigation canals
How about hanging solar panel vertically on tall buildings covering every floor except the first few to prevent vandalism

As the earth moves the sun would only hit one side and lose efficiency but right now it's "free space" not being used otherwise

They even make flexible solar panels now that can bend and move with the wind and don't need a stiff frame, slightly less efficient but volume makes up for that

Clean them the same way automated window washers work on skyscrapers

Shame they never came up with the solar paint solution, yet

ck2··on Pentagon says overreliance on AI contributed to missile strike on Iran school
first, closer to 250 people were murdered by the $4 Million tomahawk

second, imagine if Iran even accidentally took out an elementary school in the US filled with 250 people

third, there was a human group that was supposed to review targets regardless of whomever picked them, the group was purposely disbanded, that's negligent homicide at best but more clearly a war crime on purpose

fourth, let's say it was 250 soldiers somehow among a civilian setting, IT CHANGED NOTHING, this war will change nothing, they cannot destroy pickaxe mountain, they will abandon the war in 2029 like the US abandoned Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Korea, WAR CHANGES NOTHING, you cannot "War to Peace"

ck2··on There's a high chance of devices being sold with GrapheneOS preinstalled in 2027
nice

now give me a device with a mechanical switch that gaps the radio power physically

ck2··on Claude Opus 5.5
to pace = to regulate

but without using the word "regulate" which is a negative connotation to business

but a "pacer" would be a leader of a pack which is a positive spin

it's classical business marketing language silliness

ck2··on Vacate a drone restriction that criminalized recording immigration agents
drones aren't going to show the crimes ICE is doing daily inside their prisons

have you seen the latest footage that was leaked to Congress?

you should google it

hundreds of people locked in what appears to be a commercial warehouse bay with just hundreds of random folding chair, blazing lights overhead and foil blankets in the back under the lights to "sleep"

they are locked in those conditions for months

most with perfect legal status and absolutely no crimes

all hidden from public view so "see no evil, hear no evil"

these are concentration camps in the United States, there is no way to argue otherwise

(ICE is even re-using a prison on a military base where citizens who had Japanese ancestry were held during WW2)

ck2··on OpenAI GPT–6 Astra breaks Enigma message that has resisted solution since 2005
whoa

a preprint just three weeks old with my question

what voodoo is this lol

maybe I picked up the relativity idea subconsciously from somewhere, but I don't recall it specifically, I thought I was being "clever" that it would be a good test

ck2··on OpenAI GPT–6 Astra breaks Enigma message that has resisted solution since 2005
the idea is that it's math, so in theory it could be figured out by machine process

but was there enough knowledge by 1903 to truly figure that out?

or was it a leap in conscious realization that a machine could not emulate (yet)

(pretending to be a person is harder than math imho, much harder)

ck2··on US Military Modifies AI and Lethal Targeting Process After Iran School Strike
They already had a process that could have prevented the murder of hundreds of children

It was a human review group for chosen targets

They got rid of them, on purpose

That's negligent homicide

btw you'll notice that billion dollars per day of bombing for months now has also changed absolutely nothing

just like decimating Iraq changed nothing, Afghanistan war changed nothing, Vietnam war changed nothing, Korean war changed nothing

each time a President would never learn, only double down in cost and lives

it's almost like war changes nothing, just kills a whole lot of innocent people

unless that's actually the point

which would be a war crime

the pause in the war now is only because they need to develop a billion dollar bunker-buster for pickaxe mountain and then it's back to accidentally killing civilians by negligence again

meanwhile we are starving Cubans to death via illegal blockage for no reason, only the cruelty is their point

if the Dems do not get the Senate, imagine this country by 2029

ck2··on OpenAI GPT–6 Astra breaks Enigma message that has resisted solution since 2005
I would like to see an "AI" trained only up to knowledge through 1903

Then see if it can come up with E=mc^2

ck2··on NASA’s Mars Sample Return mission is dead
it's cancelled via funding via some illegal devious trick since they can't nuke it entirely via the executive

Congress awarded it $150 Million

so Vought or someone in the cabinet pocketed that and gave it $5 Million instead

They can't do anything with $5 Million, that's their point

That's one tomahawk missile

Imagine what NASA could have done with the $1000 MILLION PER DAY being spent on bombing Iran to no purpose or result

Nancy Grace only happened because it was a refurbished second spy telescope built but never launched by the NSA, basically a Hubble pointed at earth

HWO needs to be built from scratch because detecting non-light-emitting earth-sized planets is a technological miracle not even possible this decade at any price

It was meant for 2040 but now I won't live long enough to see it even if the next Congress re-funds it

ck2··on Show HN: A website that tracks US food prices every day
is government data even trustworthy anymore at any level for any reason?

they've fired everyone and replaced them with a few sycophants

(you think those job numbers are real after he fired head of Bureau of Statistics calling them "rigged" and replaced with someone he liked)

just make a fake walmart account for your local store

add a dozen items to your cart that you use most and take a screenshot or print to pdf

then go back in December and look at the same items

if you already use a walmart account for years, go back and look at a receipt and then add the same items and look at the price

ck2··on NASA’s Mars Sample Return mission is dead
don't boo, vote

I was holding my breath for Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope which amazingly wasn't cancelled but they did cancel its successor, the Habitable Worlds Observatory Space Telescope which would be able to spot earth-sized exo-planets

even though Congress already funded it, because somehow the executive is allowed to illegally pocket veto Congress over and over again past two years

it's all Heritage Foundation and Russell Vought, he has no use for science and education

ck2··on HERMES radio enables voice and data communication over vast distances
doesn't HAM radio already have a digital packet system that works like fidonet store-and-forward system?

this just adds an encryption layer?

ck2··on US Revokes Limits on Power Plants' Climate Pollution
well, for the next 800 days

or can a dictator president do this at all without congress?

btw how many gallons of crude oil do you think the Epstein Memorial Ballroom can hold?

because we're going to need a new strategic oil reserve, he destroyed the current system by bottoming it out

ck2··on Flock is rolling out a voluntary severance program
have a conscious when trying to do immoral things will never work out

I mean look at NSA, Presidency, etc. "no conscious, no problem!"

Just "other" victims and imply they are all criminals somehow someway and you can dismiss any feeling of doing wrong

ck2··on ChatGPT now knows what you do on other websites via ad collector
remember the cache: search of google

so they basically have copies already of every webpage until they turned it off a few years ago (well they may still have it updated but not provide it as a service)

so it occurs to me they most definitely trained their "AI" on all that user cache

they may have even just turned it off as a service when they realized other "AI" could do the same thing
