cj··on The worthlessness of Vitamin D is mildly exaggerated
Direct link to buy:

Definitely not the cheapest place to order the test from, but it will get the job done.

cj··on The worthlessness of Vitamin D is mildly exaggerated
K2 is also known to prevent problems with calcium build up which can happen if Vitamin D is dosed too high. I personally would never take Viramin D without K2 alongside it.
cj··on Polymarket has flooded social media with deceptive videos by paid creators
Plus a 2% fee charged on deposit.
cj··on Apple is going to raise device prices, but when?
> I suspect the price hike would drown out the news of all the new stuff. And I really don’t think Apple wants that.

I think they could get away with it if they do something like drop the price of the lowest device tier (or minimally hold price steady) and only increase prices on their more premium line up, where the premium buyers are less price sensitive.

cj··on Nearly half of LG smart TV apps contain residential proxy SDKs
I agree with your disagreement. Even though I’m the one you’re disagreeing with.
cj··on Polymarket has flooded social media with deceptive videos by paid creators
I just checked my account.

They accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover via Apple Pay for a 2% deposit fee.

But I also see it says they don’t accept credit card in their help docs. I’m not sure what that’s about.

cj··on Nearly half of LG smart TV apps contain residential proxy SDKs
And the next sentence says this:

> The app can be suspended for a short time

Short time, short lived, not long running.

That doesn't make it okay obviously, just means the blast radius is limited.

I finally gave in to my curiosity and downloaded Kalshi last week to place a few bets on the World Cup.

I was blown away how easy it was. I placed a bet with real money within 5 minutes of downloading the app.

They allow instant deposits with credit card, and ID verification was real time.

I can’t imagine that the extreme accessibility and the typical dark patterns deployed by every popular app won’t eventually end badly.

(I was also shocked that when looking at my credit card bill online, next to the Kalshi deposit line item it showed a promo “would you like to split this payment over 12 month?” and seemingly was only available for that one transaction. So I could have deposited $1000 via CC into Kalshi and paid it back $83/mo over 12 months.)

This industry is wild.

cj··on Big Banana Car
I don’t mind the insults. I’ll let the downvotes speak for themselves.

I imagine most smart TVs don't support multitasking or apps staying alive in the background, hopefully?

Coke doesn't own the copyright to any of my nostalgic childhood memories, while Disney certainly does!
cj··on Big Banana Car
> What's really crazy to me is that someone is working over time to try to police (literally) other people's negative feelings about cop misconduct.

It’s crazy to me that you view it as “policing” your opinions rather than simply seeing my viewpoint as just that, and opposing viewpoint.

I’m not policing you. Just offering a different perspective.

I apologize for speaking up. So much for free speech :)

But I’ll say it once more: it’s a freaking banana car. Lighten up bro! Very confused why you’re more upset than the driver of the banana is (who seems to want the attention and is getting it, the desired effect)!

cj··on Temporary Cloudflare accounts for AI agents
Not that it helps, but I think this is only a problem if you’re paying by credit card.

If your company is on an enterprise plan, at least for us all of the limits are pre-negotiated and prepaid, and you aren’t billed for overages (although if you consistently overage, sales will start badgering you to negotiate a limit increase, but my experience is you can simply ignore their demands and they eventually go away)

It does drive me crazy that their enterprise tier “caps” bandwidth. Our company overaged on one of our domains, so we moved the domain out of our enterprise license onto a self-serve plan, and like magic, back to unlimited bandwidth.

cj··on Temporary Cloudflare accounts for AI agents
No, Cloudflare does not meet the criteria for inclusion in the S&P 500.
cj··on Big Banana Car
It is crazy to me that the banana car driver seems to like the attention from cops, but here in the comments we are rewriting the narrative because all cops must be evil people.

I appreciate your anger, but it’s misplaced here.

cj··on Big Banana Car
There's a lot of anger towards police coming through in your comments. It's just a banana car.
cj··on Big Banana Car
Such a negative attitude is incredibly counterproductive.

You want police to have a positive presence in the community. Innocent engagement with a banana car helps with that, doesn't hurt.

cj··on Leaked financial docs show OpenAI is losing billions of dollars a year
I’m honestly just thinking about day to day utility in my personal life.
cj··on OpenAI Losses Increased Nearly 8X in 2025, with Spending Hitting $34B
I’d easily pay multiple hundreds. Possibly a thousand a month.

If I were really forced to.

LLMs provide me about the same value as a car does.

cj··on Want your images back? That'll be $5
Yes.

Photobucket emailed many warnings over the course of multiples months saying "Your account will be deleted in X days" with a prompt to subscribe to keep your account.

At the time they were sending the emails, you could still login and download your photos (that's what I did). It was all very transparent.

The fact that the author missed these emails isn't really photobucket's fault, IMO.

(But not giving a preview of the account you're reclaiming isn't a good UX obviously, not going to defend that!)

cj··on Banned Book Library in a Wi-Fi Smart Light Bulb
> we do not have a solution for countering this kind of a 'denial of service' attack

Umm, wouldn't a simple solution be going back to linear news feed that only includes updates from people you follow rather than the algorithm deciding what content to push to you?

We have the solution.

cj··on Openrouter Fusion API
Are there any good web apps for asking a single question to multiple LLMs? I frequently find myself switching between LLMs to compare results.

A unified UI would be great, although not obvious how useful the "fusion" value prop is.

cj··on CrankGPT

Except you can’t.

I scroll down, and the content of the page doesn’t move as expected.

cj··on How to earn a billion dollars
> How do we determine that limit ?

How about a cap relative to GDP?

Elon Musk's net worth is 3% of USA's annual GDP and 1% of global GDP.

I'm not a fan of limiting wealth among the upper class. But I am a fan of stopping a small number of individuals from controlling a significant percent of the world's GDP because if that trend continues, we'll end up with individual people more powerful than the governments that are supposed to keep them in check.

cj··on Measles surge in Utah sparks fears US could undo decades of progress
I hate blaming things on social media, but I think that's at the center of it.

Once you start pausing on anything related to anti-vax or anti-science, you'll start seeing more and more people talking about alternative views.

And soon those alternative views are all you see, and those alternative views start feeling like mainstream views. And then you become confused when you're at a dinner party and no one agrees with your stance on vaccines.

I don't think it's any more complicated than that.

And it doesn't help that anti-vax views are spread with the support of bogus science. Anti-vaxxers don't view themselves as anti-science.

Don’t forget there’s an entire industry that exists solely for this purpose.
