It looks like he used his access to millions of customer emails to spam them with his political views.
> I know you don’t want to hear this from me. And I guarantee I don’t want to say it.
This whole thing just reeks of narcissism and delusion. And that's saying something, since I mostly agree with him otherwise. I can't imagine this did anything but piss off a lot of people.
I wonder why you chose just that one specific stat to highlight.
I did read the article, and it says nothing of the sort. Just that they're not ruling it out.
> A law enforcement source told CBS2 a city program will offer those released incentives meant to encourage them to show up in court such as Mets baseball tickets, a subway pass or a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card. [0]

Otherwise, this isn't justice. It's business as usual.
> As The New York Times reported last October, Cyber Command operators sent direct messages to individual Russian staffers that they had identified as involved in election interference, and were tracking their activity. The Post reports that the IRA was troubled enough by those messages that they launched an internal investigation to identify potential leakers.
I have a feeling that the US and allied countries are pretty deep into the Russians with this stuff.

> In 2015, Shokin became the prosecutor general, inheriting the investigation. The Obama administration and other governments and non-governmental organizations soon became concerned that Shokin was not adequately pursuing corruption in Ukraine, was protecting the political elite, and was regarded as "an obstacle to anti-corruption efforts".[24] Among other issues, he was slow-walking the investigation into Zlochevsky and Burisma and, according to Zlochevsky's allies, using the threat of prosecution to try to solicit bribes from Mr. Zlochevsky and his team – to the extent that Obama officials were considering launching their own criminal investigation into the company for possible money laundering.[38]
Decry Wikipedia if you'd like, but this is easily verifiable from any number of other outlets.

> Among their chief concerns, according to people familiar with the discussions, was that the Burisma material would be leaked alongside forged materials in an attempt to hurt Mr. Biden’s candidacy — as Russian hackers did when they dumped real emails alongside forgeries ahead of the 2017 French elections — a slight twist on Russia’s 2016 playbook when they siphoned leaked D.N.C. emails through fake personas on Twitter and WikiLeaks.
It's a complete mess that we need a uh, universal, solution for.
I find them really hard to watch. It's about 95% fluff and bullshit and 5% about the technology. I usually just read the bullet summary afterwards.
I read this, laughed, and closed the tab. The world has gone mad.
> The EB-1 is a preference category for United States employment-based permanent residency. It is intended for "priority workers". Those are foreign nationals who either have "extraordinary abilities", or are "outstanding professors or researchers", and also includes "some executives and managers of foreign companies who are transferred to the US". It allows them to remain permanently in the US.
> Therefore, applicants who can demonstrate their extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics through sustained national or international acclaim are not required to have a permanent offer of employment in the US and are eligible to self-petition, however, they must intend to work in the US in their field of expertise.
I wonder if anyone in the last decade has _ever_ walked into their rep's office, talked to them, and changed their vote on a key issue. I really doubt it.
"The Deep State wants to read your Facebook messages!", etc.
Do you think that's related to China allowing zero domestic tech competition, but demanding that their companies be allowed to compete in the rest of the world?
Why aren't developers in jail for this? Breaking into someone's email account and exfiltrating their data - disgusting. Clicking "OK" on a 500 page ToS doesn't get you out of this.
I'm so sick of this criminal behavior being brushed off as "growth hacking", "move fast and break things", or some other bullshit. The people creating this garbage should feel some shame and face real consequences.
It's to beat up on a CEO or two for 5 minutes and tweet out the clip to your followers. And for that, it's time well spent.
