They've done a horrible job of communicating these changes so perhaps I'm mistaken.
I stopped reading at this point, completely disillusion for anything _minimally viable_ it's 2023 and I've still seen large companies with credentials and passwords committed into their code...
I always just stuck to vanilla Terraform but recall coming across them at some point.
> demonstrate your unique personality, ingenuity, and ability to captivate clients
That's what they want in their culture, you obviously aren't looking to join a company with this culture, good thing you found out now before starting.
Worth noting, I hate TikTok and don't use it but I think what they're asking for is not that bad. It's a good way to demonstrate that you fit into their culture: TikTok is just a (sadly popular) medium to test that. If you're totally opposed to TikTok ask if you can just make a one-minute video and submit it to them directly.
That's what I would do, and honestly I would have fun with it. You don't have to do some stupid dance, you just have to make a creative video that's a minute long...
Having a backup plan isn't a horrible idea either... might give mail-in-a-box a try.
Nuclear power plants around the world have been releasing water containing tritium in the ocean for decades. The amount Japan is releasing is actually quite small in comparison.
Honestly, if that's your workflow just get a Chromebook with LTE
I'm so glad I'm (at least currently) married and don't have to worry about finding myself using this app to meet people.
Your post said:

How is using AI and bot accounts to chat with lonely men (who think they're chatting with real humans) any better for society?
> Aware of that too, hence why it would be quickly disabled.
Or you could just... not do it at all
This is terrible for many reasons, one of which is that no one will actually meet anyone else in real life and no one wants to talk to a dating bot. Once that's exposed you'd lose all credibility.
For heterosexual relationships: you need real single women. If you have that, the men will show up and they'll be easy to attract. You might consider locating single women in several age groups (not sure how to do this, perhaps marketing) and asking them to join, you could potentially pay them for signing up and creating a profile. I'm not sure what that amount is but it's probably not that expensive.
I'd do the following:
1. Make sure you have complete admin control over the git repos.
2. Clearly communicate that pushing to master/main branches will no longer be allowed, all changes need to go through the PR review process. Document this process in the same place you'd like to see the developers start documenting their work too, make sure they're aware, and ask if anyone doesn't understand how it works (branching, etc.) Also test this process yourself and make sure it works as expected.
3. After everyone has had time to review the doc and no questions have been brought up about how it works flip the switch and prevent any merges directly into master/main on all repos (in Github you can do this with branch protections.)
Once the initial shock of (gasp) having to review code changes wears off, you can start adding other processes as needed, CODEOWNERS, consolidating CI/CD, etc in a similar manner.
Worth noting: If this troublesome developer leaves in frustration, they're going to experience the processes you're describing pretty much anywhere else (save for a similarly dysfunctional shop) they may or may not know that too. If they're resistant to process change, perhaps they'll be resistant to job change too.
I've received no email/notifications about any changes in regards to my services so this FAQ about a new mailbox service that I never knew existed is rather confusing.
They were also suggesting that user's ran the utility as root...
All really shady...
Now, if that playbook is seen by someone and then goes through several games of telephone I wouldn't be shocked if it turned into "we have retrieved vehicles of non-human origin."
I'm not sure how to accomplish this on Macs with the arm chips now though.
I would entertain a job that involved C development but I would be very hesitant to to entertain one for C++
