chrissanz··on Show HN: Send postcards with Node.js & Sincerely
this guys is just too awesome.
chrissanz··on Who is the real Wikipedia Founder?
It is debatable because he was hired to run editorial, but it is true, he came up with the idea and pushed it forward. without him wikipedia wouldn't exists.
chrissanz··on In the early iChatAV days...Steve Jobs called me “fuckchop”
that's a good question! you can ask directly on his link http://geekli.st/agrignon/micro/16528
chrissanz··on Growth Hacker is the New VP Marketing - Andrew Chen
that could be true in some instances, in my experience (and the majority of the time), traditional marketers are not always thinking about the more technical opportunities (and more often than not, they are coming up with awful+old school initiatives). hackers on the other hand are always trying to figure out how to hack something for their own benefit... looking at packets to see if something can be reversed engineered or scanning services that are relevant + popular and could help grow your company. I've been in situation (multiple times) when the marketing person is not even aware of such places. This is why someone who has the technical chops and is dedicated to growth could be very interesting. I would not hire a marketing guy without tech experience
chrissanz··on Was the Best Buy 'I created...' Superbowl Advert inspired by Geekli.st?
The real video http://vimeo.com/36316900
chrissanz··on Geekli.st integrates with Github to let you publish achievements with your code
For now, only twitter, after private beta we'll have uid/pwd, linkedin, github and facebook connect.
chrissanz··on Geekli.st integrates with Github to let you publish achievements with your code

We have pretty high profile geeks on our site, none required much explanation, the site is pretty simple, the article above kinda goes over what the site does as well. We are still in private beta, part of our communication tools include using Geeklist like a twitter client, hence the need for additional access. We don't automatically tweet for you, we are devs too, we hate that shit. Anyway, we have some good people already, like:

http://geekli.st/matz http://geekli.st/rasmus http://geekli.st/rk

Over 14k engineers. If you feel hesitant about the whole twitter thing, wait until we have other options.

chrissanz··on Private Beta Access to Geeklist for YC News Readers (code: YCREADERS1)
Hi Mike! not wishy washy at all, we are all devs here https://github.com/geeklist run by devs for devs. Go to the about to learn more, but is pretty straight forward... an achievement based street cred builder for developers.. easy.
chrissanz··on Who is behind the killing of Twitter fail whale?
Here is another link http://thenextweb.com/twitter/2011/08/18/evan-weaver-the-man...
chrissanz··on Poll: Did you start company in 2011?
yes http://geekli.st
chrissanz··on Don't use MongoDB
This article should be banned for lack of references and examples. For those of you looking to learn mongodb check this out http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Production+Deployments
chrissanz··on Don't use MongoDB
A lot of trolling here, I've never had any issues of missing data. When claiming a db (as big and popular as mongodb) doesn't work, you should include references, company, examples on how to reproduce, etc. Enough said: http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Production+Deployments
chrissanz··on Why did Microsoft invest so much in F#?
yes, very true. closer to Erlang or Caml instead. I guess I see the value for a functional programming language written on top of the CRL
chrissanz··on Why did Microsoft invest so much in F#?
Instead of developing a language similar to Java (C#) or similar to Ruby/Python (F#) or investing in companies / ideas they were not successful at (Social Network / MSN 10 years ago), I think they need to bring back the "Bill Gates" innovative spirit... what's the language of choice 5 years from now? what are the hurdles most developers are going through today and how are they solving them?
