It's really not. You don't have to like everything someone does to support them or accept their support. Purity tests are toxic, and it is a large problem on the left side of the aisle.
People ditching Teslas because they don't like Elon is political though. If you want to nut-pick between the two sides, we are going to be here a long time.
I don't think that's what is holding ev back. They need to put more into battery research. They are too heavy, charge too slow, and lose capacity in cold temps. In addition, I can't find a charger within 15 or 20 min of my house, but there's probably 20 gas stations in that radius. I'll buy electric once it's not a pain in the ass.
Anyone that says they won't buy a Tesla due to Elon's antics but will buy a Chinese EV is a hypocrite. China is a fascist state and no company does anything without party involvement.
If your stand-ups are a waste of time, consider making it less status-y and more collaborative. We lengthed ours a bit and encouraged more dialog rather than just focusing on the traditional 3 questions (what did you work on since last standup, what are you doing before next standup, and where are you blocked) and it's been much more productive.
You have an extremely inaccurate and flawed understanding of conservativism. It's like you have concocted a view based on stereotypes and MSNBC editorials. Or are you deliberately misrepresenting?
Corporate users don't generally have control period. Keep your personal stuff away from the work laptop. TLS is useless on a machine you don't control.
Because there are allegations that he was peddling access to his father while his father was VP which may be backed up by emails on said laptop. Now that it's confirmed as genuine, an investigation needs to be done. We would demand nothing less if this were the previous president.
Their content is basically advertising their brand to their fans though. Stephen King can announce a book tour or new title and reach millions of fans for a meager 20 bucks a month. On the flip side, I personally don't need to have celebrities on the platform to see the value. When Twitter started there were no celebrities on there and they only got involved once it took off because it is a cost effective way of reaching fans.
His long term outlook is very poor though. Judgements will likely be reduced (if Jones co-operates with the court this time) but he'll be lucky to have a home when everything is over.
Serious question: Do you really think that Russia poses that kind of threat? We've seen how woefully their military has performed. There is no chance that Russia would be able to start rolling through Europe the same way Germany did. Especially now that they are so depleted that they are conscripting. I'm not saying appeasement is the way, but comparing this situation to Germany in the 30s is a bit off the mark.
It seems like you have a characterized and absurdist view of libertarianism. Libertarianism is primarily about maximizing individual liberty, not the ultra-capitalist, amoral view you seem to have. Libertarians aren't anarchists (ignoring the various fringe anarcho-whatevers that espouse a government type that is impossible).
Even in the US, a lot of us didn't think Putin would actually invade since it looked like such a disasterous tactical move. It turns out a lot of people underestimated Russia's suicidal tendencies.
It's not like we're allowed to choose leaders from the population at large. We are generally stuck voting for the people that run for office. Quite often, there are few choices and none of them are very good.
Personally speaking, I stopped sharing opinions around these topics once I saw people losing their livelihoods for carrying the "wrong" opinions. I'll still discuss with close friends and family. My sister and I have some very spirited conversations around politics, but I wouldn't do the same with my boss. I don't even know what my boss's opinions are and I'm fine with that. As for the "American" comment, there are countries where physical altercations happen in Parliament over political disagreements. Holding passionate opinions is definitely not unique to Americans.
I'm not a fan of comparisons like that because they don't account for cost or standard of living between counties, just raw exchange rates. It would be especially pronounced when including countries like India and Russia.
