There are trillions of dollars at stake here, do you think getting 1000 people on board is that difficult with this level of money? lol

>Single core performance still worse than an iPhone.
I can believe the core with active cooling can sustain good performance at least, but not in the IPhone.
There is no chance the sustained single core perf is better than a 150=200+w ryzen with a big noctua cooler on it. The power draw alone would kill the battery in a few minutes(?), and the heat would make it catch fire. lol
Even my little chromebook can provide completions and errors effectively instantly to me, even in medium sized rust projects.
Or are you saying (probably maximum) ~20ms delay is blocking your ability to code?
Also, they hit so hard that nginx returns 502s and times out for real user half of the time, and when the site does load it takes a few seconds to load.
This is all on a high performance single core vultr server, not the cheapest vps but not the fastest, but should be plenty fast enough.
I think it's just popular to dislike systemd, some sort of echo chamber effect or something.
I realize this doesn't work for everyone, and not everyone has the money to spare, but it's really nice to be able to host your own stuff on your own website, and not be tied down to a forge like github or codeberg.
Bonus points if you have the hardware and network capacity to host this at home!

This itself is hostility towards anyone who isn't a zig expert pretty much. If you want to comment in this thread, please either have your open source zig project(s) visible on your codeberg profile, or be Fil Pizło, otherwise zig issue tracker is not interested in what you have to say
Sadly I didn't get a chance to screenshot anything, but he's definitely not just deleting the toxic comments. The good news here is that we have more than just anecdotes to support this, we have empirical evidence.
The reason people don't get malware on Linux is because they install software through the package manager, via trusted and reviewed repos. And drivers are all built-in to the operating system, not third party (with some exceptions, like nvidia).
On most Linux setups you aren't just downloading random junk from the internet and running it. Also the operating system won't install things automatically for you generally either. Even system updates are optional if you don't want them, and you won't be nagged for it.
Basically it comes down to a difference in culture.
Not sure about running rootful though. I don't really use rootful containers personally.
The "root" you get in docker is not actually root outside of the namespace the container in running in.
Assuming no bugs in the kernel, it should not be able to do anything more than the UID that it's mapped from.
I've seen many people make this claim and it's wrong but also silly. How do you think type systems work?
