Isn't it said in the article that Redis can be replaced by anything else

> _redis can be replaced or complemented by another NoSQL database (such as MongoDB) or a relational database (such as Postgres). Throughout this section, where you see redis, feel free to replace it with the database you might want to use._

chipz··on Thank HN: My SaaS paid my rent this month
Wow! I like this kind positive post! If you have the story behind your product and how you build it, we'll definitely wanna read it!

chipz··on Book Summary: Atomic Habits by James Clear
Lesson #2: How Habits Work : Cue, craving, response, reward Is pretty similar with Charles Duhigg's The Power of Habbit, does this book have connection?
chipz··on Ask HN: How do you deal with professional envy?
Solid point, Not OP, but I also want to point out that OP seems to enjoy his working term (no commute and all), but enjoying the work doesn't have to make an impact on you.

It's just a fucking job, yes, we make other people rich, yes, but it's also the kind of job that I wanna do. I also don't commute, and also have more time to meet with my daughter compared to most dads, and I really glad about this term.

chipz··on Ask HN: Alternatives to Yubikey?
Slightly out of topic, is it possible to create one with similar function to yubikey with USB flash drive?
chipz··on Scala vs Go
it should be available in any language on JVM although I've never tried it myself. It's simple enough, I don't think it would take too much work to get the information from flight recorder.
chipz··on Scala vs Go
One thing that I like about Scala is that we can use Java Mission Control to analyze how our code (to the 'method' level,) perform in production. Not just deploy and pray that our code will hold strong enough to handle the load. I only see this feature in Scala and Java --not that we wanna compare in this case,
chipz··on Elementary OS
That's nice information! Thanks, gonna try that!
chipz··on Elementary OS
have anyone tried Apricity, https://apricityos.com?

I'm currently using Archlinux now, so far I enjoy using it, but the fact that we have to put much effort on installing it makes me don't want to recommend it.

I try to find simple-to-install-with-Arch-linux-based-OS, still with rolling release and pacman -Syu to update the entire OS.

chipz··on Mozilla Thimble
Haha, indeed.
chipz··on Mozilla Thimble
Should keep in mind that this just for learning purpose, can't really compare Thimble to an IDE or full pledged editor like Sublime or Atom
chipz··on Elon Musk on How to Build the Future
is it just me or this interview is kinda unprepared? the questions that sama asks, the way that musk answer & the way that interview stop. But overall, I enjoy this series, kudos!

chipz··on The Pithos Guide
Been use Pithos in development (4 months) and production (2 months) as a replacement for S3, so far it's still stable.
chipz··on How to be like Steve Ballmer
Good point, never think of it.
chipz··on Maker's Schedule, Manager's Schedule (2009)
Do they each really keep a calendar filled with schedule in their desk? :)
chipz··on Maker's Schedule, Manager's Schedule (2009)
I think that is certainly the way, any manager or lead developer should always open to interruption, that way we can manage our team.

Being a lead dev or manager, i think we should always expect less coding.

chipz··on Write code every day

chipz··on Best Practices for Speeding Up Your Web Site
Yes, I once installed Google's page-speed to suggest and reduce our company's slow website.

Still the best one out there I think.
