charlieh··on Mozilla just can't catch a break
You're deliberately missing his point.

None of this stuff happened until Dear Leader changed his position. Now, all of a sudden, being opposed to gay marriage is the Worst Thing Ever.

So, let me get this straight:

Giving money to politicians who are against same-sex marriage: bad.

Actually being a politician who's against same-sex marriage: perfectly fine.

Is that really your thesis here?

State Senators, U.S. Senators, and sitting Presidents don't have to "donate money" to suppress rights. They have more direct mechanisms.

Nice attempt to shift the goal posts, though.

He wasn't "on the fence about it". He's just changed his position more often than some people change their tires.

Obama was for same-sex marriage in 1996, "undecided" in 1998, opposed in 2004 and 2008, and for it again in 2012.

Unambiguously.

I would lay long odds that upwards of 90% of the U.S. citizens taking Eich to task on this thread voted for Barack Obama.

So being opposed to gay marriage disqualifies you from being the CEO of a tech company, but not from being President of the United States.

That's a...convenient...position. Just not a rational one.

Personally, I don't think the government (and certainly not the Federal government) has any business being involved with marriage in the first place, other than providing a registry for the contracts and a court system to enforce them.
