I know, it really feels like the future. One day I hope we're all traveling around on electric scooters, skateboard and bikes.

> For fuel prices, I'm using today’s nationwide average gasoline price of $2.59 per gallon and $0.28 per kWh that Tesla charges at its Supercharger stations.

OK, but you could use a more accurate number, the price people pay at their homes (Most rarely supercharge). A quick google shows thats 12c per hour in the US (I pay 8 cents.)

Starting with "incorrect" (biased) assumptions will get you to the wrong place

I recently bought an electric skateboard (kaly board for those so inclined). Commuting on one of these to work costs me about 20 cents in electricity. I can only do it when the weather is nice though, right now the cold just cuts through to my bone.

Pour one out for everyone who's had to include reCAPTCHA. I had to do it many times in a row. I was sure that I was a robot by the end.

Hmm possible. I will give that a try.

I gave proxmox a solid try for virtualizing a mattermost instance. But it was just way too slow compared to bare metal. Chats took seconds to load instead of ms. I'm sure there's some explanation for it but I couldn't be assed to figure it out and reverted.

Huh. This whole time I thought the crisis was around human waste.

It's really good. I wouldn't use anything else.

My experience as well

It's not really that bad, I only notice it when there is no other sound, then I can notice the high pitched ringing very clearly..

I hear it right now. Doesn't everyone?

Yeah of course. As I understand it we all checked boxes basically agreeing to be on the bleeding edge of software updates so that issues like this can be identified fixed before general rollout. Yes it's crazy.

How much money can one make in an hour as a Turk? Has anyone tried it? I used to click links and made a few dollars back in the day...

It's true that there are bugs in software updates. However my car has gotten 5% faster twice from 2 separate software updates. Never had this experience in another car and it's truly fantastic.

Anecdotally, my grandfather is 92 or so and still works as a journalist (reduced hours). He is still super sharp and does yoga every day. Blows my mind.

I just tried. Why can't I upload shit from the website? I tried changing my user agent and clicking the new upload button that appeared and it didn't work (possibly because it was a video?)

What's the point of making a website if it's crippled compared to the mobile app?

iTerm is amazing I use it every day. I sent a donation your way for your work.

There was also a bit in Silicon Valley about how rich old entrepreneurs are hiring young 20 yr old 'blood boys' to transfuse them blood at will. I wonder how true it is.

What if the USB device upon gaining power opened up and poked your button? : P

What about for Windows development? I just ordered one through my company in order to bypass 'untrusted app' dialogs that my non tech savvy users can't figure out.

Oh my god, it's SO GOOD. I'm uninstalling Dropbox everywhere now. We're in the future of file sharing!!!!

> tiny minimalist Dropbox competitor

what is it? I'm lookin for alternatives

Half decent? Has the GP heard of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, or how Churchill starved 3m in Bengal?

Agree, this needs to be seriously enforced. Web browsing is a PITA now with all these popups that only have an "I Accept" box with no way to dismiss the notification otherwise. Usually I just close the tab.

Everyone breaks something in prod at some point, don't beat yourself up.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. IIRC the Switch will brick if you use the wrong dock / charger to this day. If Nintendo can get away with it, surely Raspi foundation can, lol.

He's just correcting a misspelling

I have a model 3 and I'd like to know myself. AFAIK it's not possible..

> My solution going forward will be to spend all of my money each month so there's nothing to steal, and have a terrible reputation online that therefore can't be ruined.

Way ahead of you there buddy

(sorry, I know, no jokes..)

I learned so much today...
