cdnsteve··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
I built a free interactive learning site on data structures and algorithms based on passing Google interviews. Think leetcode but free. https://learningto.co/
cdnsteve··on Show HN: I couldn't afford interview prep, so I built a free alternative
The hamburger issue should be fixed now

Spent lots of time on this last night, should be much better experience now
cdnsteve··on Shopify moves back to Native from React Native
I've been out of FE dev from awhile, is React still leading? I feel like Vue might be taking over?
cdnsteve··on Show HN: I couldn't afford interview prep, so I built a free alternative
You're right, just pushed a fix. A refactor earlier today had broken accent tinted backgrounds across a few spots in light mode. Thanks for reporting.

Most companies still run these rounds. AI is generally banned during them, though some places are experimenting with allowing it. They want to see your foundational knowledge, not what a copilot can write.
cdnsteve··on Show HN: I couldn't afford interview prep, so I built a free alternative
Thanks for the feedback. Part of the thinking in building this depends on the company but bigger companies are still running DS&A rounds on basically every loop. This was built because the interviews that remain are still high stakes and the prep material hasn't really evolved since the green book era.
cdnsteve··on Show HN: I couldn't afford interview prep, so I built a free alternative
Sorry about that, the focus was desktop for now. It's definitely on my todo list.
cdnsteve··on Show HN: I couldn't afford interview prep, so I built a free alternative
Working on making light mode, I'm more of a dark mode guy myself but I get it. Should be fixed shortly. MVPs don't give me time for much of a stylistic polish at this point.
cdnsteve··on Show HN: I couldn't afford interview prep, so I built a free alternative
lol, books don't give you that fresh MVP build feel

Same here, Azure AI Foundry is slow to add models... and they dont' often support many of the open-weight ones.
cdnsteve··on DeepSeek v4.1 Flash
beep boop? lol. Dead internet theory in real time?
cdnsteve··on DeepSeek v4.1 Flash
Absolutely insane performance and benchmark results. It's beating Opus 5 and Sol 5.6 https://tokenstead.ai/models/deepseek-v4-1-flash
cdnsteve··on DeepSeek v4.1 Flash
They have flat fees, so it's the best deal around by far. Basically for $5 first month then $10/mo after that. If you're doing tons of heavy work, it struggles because they throttle the model inference and for good reason. I mean it's cheap! But if you want a place to try models for nearly nothing and aren't doing 6 sessions in parallel it works fine.

The average company and definitely average Joe will never be able to afford is ludicrously expensive model. Do not use this in a corporate/startup environment unless you have endless VC cash.

What do you use for Nanoclaw's sandboxing?
cdnsteve··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (August 2026)
Come hang out at Tokenstead.ai a local llm focused community where we help you understand what models can run on your local hardware, which open-weight models might be best for your use case, latest news and a bunch of other stuff.

It's still early days but this is my passion so I thought I'd turn it into a community site. More socials are coming, right now we are ok X @tokenstead and YouTube coming soon.

Would love some feedback!

cdnsteve··on Jack Dorsey launches Buzz to combine team chat, AI agents and Git hosting
Companies are looking for more traceability in regulated environments. We have audit and compliance to deal with where the whole sdlc is under a microscope.

Does buzz help move us out of Jira hell, get off slack, teams or google chat? Does it get us off github enterprise?

I don't understand the problem this solves and how it could be reasonably used in a corporate environment.

You should consider testing our RemembrallMCP (note I'm the author). It substantially cuts token usage and you get better results in codebases. https://github.com/roboticforce/remembrallmcp
