catsareok··on Amazon RSUs – What's the Future?
Amazon stockholder here too - 31% decline from peak, been holding for 7 years, last two years flat. I think you're confused.
catsareok··on Innate immune suppression by SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccinations
Wow, everyone in the comments section is a fucking expert - no matter which side of the issue they're on! What a lucky person I am to have stumbled upon such a large group of experts! Jesus fucking christ.
catsareok··on Been in embedded for 20 years, and SQL sucks
Sqlite3 blows. Worked it for years. It has caching and flash burn issues and also is just the worst “language” when it comes to schema updates and general use.
catsareok··on Been in embedded for 20 years, and SQL sucks
I want to avoid joins at all costs. I’ve encountered far too many of them for purposes of “it would be fun to use a join,”. Basic requirements are storage of ints and strings, and mutex. Doesn’t need to be lighting fast, or have complex caching.

Yeah mostly Nvidia Jetson parts, so that'd prob work. Mongo seems to be a massive fav - I should dig in.

What do people think of CockroachDB?

Thanks.

catsareok··on Is dogma on tech forums inevitable?
Yep. Point taken - pun intended. This forum has fallen into the garbage bin a long time ago. Just sort of wondering if it's a requirement of all pop tech forums to go down this way.
catsareok··on Is dogma on tech forums inevitable?
A principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true.

Forums like this tend to produce "Accepted" solutions that are argued blindly for. I certainly mean dogma.

catsareok··on My $200k Sushi Dinner
You could substitute the dollar amount and item with any number of things. This article is uninteresting and has been tried thousands of times on crypto and various stocks.

Yawn.

catsareok··on California’s ‘hydrogen highway’ never happened. Could 2020 change that?
I hope so. Numbskulls love blaming Obama for all kinds of ridiculous shit, but I was legitimately crushed when he killed off funding for hydrogen cars. Such an awesome technology for creating lightweight electric propulsion.
catsareok··on Mass Evacuation Underway in German City over WWII Bombs
This happens often. When I was there in 2011 or so, there was a massive one found on the Rhine because the water was low. It was something like 2 or 3 thousand pounds. It's amazing how much of this stuff will be sitting around for hundreds or thousands of years even.
