carlos22··on How (Not) to Write an iOS SDK
The HN title lacks the iOS part of the headline - which is quite important because all the information is useless if you are not interested in iOS.
carlos22··on Firefox OS 2.5 Developer Preview, an Experimental Android App
And if you wonder why Ubuntu has a real Firefox branding, they have a deal with Mozilla.
carlos22··on Firefox OS 2.5 Developer Preview, an Experimental Android App
I don't think so. Similar to many Linux distributions F-Droid apps should be build from source. There are some issues about the branding (logo, name etc.) which leads to things like Iceweasel (Debian) or Fennec (F-Droid). See: https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.mozilla.fire...
carlos22··on Switzerland Offers Counterpoint on Deflation’s Ills
Most of the articles are in German:

https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/schweiz-mehrarbeit-101....

http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/strong-franc-woes_workers-to-be-...

Its hard to get real data at this time.

carlos22··on Switzerland Offers Counterpoint on Deflation’s Ills
Many companies in Switzerland force their workers to work longer (between 5 and 10 %) to compensate the so called "Franken Schock". As they don't have strong regulations on working time (compared to Germany for example) this is not a problem. They also started to pay some of their workforce in EUR instead of CHF (this happens to new employees and especially for people crossing boards to work there).
carlos22··on Islamic State has shifted to Telegram from Twitter
There is a FOSS Version: https://github.com/slp/Telegram-FOSS But yeah Telegram isn't as free as it should be (Server etc.).
carlos22··on Go + gxui: Rendering native app GUIs on any platform?
GTK3 has a HTML5 backend: https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-broadway.html

But i think you still need all the libs and stuff.

carlos22··on VMware Photon: Minimal Linux Container Host
Oh I think he does. You can run linux containers on bare metal - but you loose some features and it's not really secure.

Look at SmartOS for example - their zones run on bare metal and provide most of the vm features as well as strong seperation.

carlos22··on RancherOS: An OS for Docker Containers
The Joyent guys are running docker in smartos by so called "branded zones". They emulate the Linux Kernel ABI. This works surprisingly well, as they say. See: https://www.joyent.com/developers/videos/docker-and-the-futu...

The cool thing is, that they open sourced the SDC in November 2014.

carlos22··on Show HN: Open-Source, Free, Agile Project Management Tool
Are there any plans to add git branch/commit intergration?
