Not to mention resale. A 2013 Model S still sells for 40k. A 2013 BMW 5-series sells for about 15k. All BMW has left is its badge.

As a former BMW fanboy, here's my take:

1) Over the past decade, BMW has snuffed the enthusiast/semi-enthusiast crowd to cater to mainstream luxury buyers.

2) Anecdotally, I've noticed that the Tesla buyers of today were the BMW/Audi buyers of yesterday.

Who's still interested in new BMWs?

I haven't, but I've been meaning to read at least one of his books.

If the kernel parts are confusing you, I highly recommend "Linux Kernel Development" by Robert Love as a high-level introduction to the kernel architecture.

If you like that, proceed to "Linux Kernel Architecture" by Wolfgang Mauerer. The first chapter contains information similar to this article, but at a much greater level of detail.

Can you elaborate on how the issue was found? I've been through similar treatments, even had carpal tunnel release just to see if it would help (it didn't).

How would you describe the pain? All of mine is in the fingers, exclusively. No wrist pain.

Similarly, I switched from vim to GUI editors for the same reason.

I used my personal $500 mac mini for full-time desktop and webapp development when employed at Citrix. This excludes the cost of peripherals, of course.

Currently running a bot to farm an exploit on Forza 7, using the same macro program that I used a decade ago for runescape.

Between Raleigh and Durham, it's mostly sister-sites for larger tech companies. Personally, I've worked at NetApp, Citrix, and now Nutanix -- all within 25 minutes of my house in Cary.

Not much of a start-up scene, AFAIK.
