c9lgPZqHNGdC1V1··on CATL's new LFP battery can charge from 10 to 98% in less than 7 minutes
If anything, Nio battery swap stations would allow car users to swap to newer types of battery as they become available. I say this knowing Nio is one of CATL's most important partners[1].

c9lgPZqHNGdC1V1··on The tech monoculture is finally breaking
This is my time to shine. I never stopped using dedicated mp3-players. After my trusty Philips Gogears died and became unavailable for purchase, I settled on Ruizu branded mp3-players. The Ruizu X02[1] is an absolute baller, cheap as hell, trustworthy and limited to the basic functionality you would expect from an mp3-player (music, movies, radio, pictures). You put stuff on it via USB + drag-and-drop just like the ol' days. Damn trustworthy too I had one soaked in water for 15 minutes - flinging it was like using a water pistol. Did it die? Pfft, this is a Ruizu we're talking about. Only thing that can destroy these are weights in the gym and even then they still play music: 'I have no light but I must play' style. No biggie, new one is 20-30 euro's it's like I'm robbing them

c9lgPZqHNGdC1V1··on Why OpenStack and Kata Containers are both seeing a resurgence of adoption
OpenStack doesn't really just use 'a' storage backend. You can configure a different backend depending on the service, i.e. point Manila to some proprietary Hitachi technology, point Glance to Ceph or Cinder to any of these https://docs.openstack.org/cinder/2024.1/drivers.html. Not sure what KaiserPro is going on about, as Ceph is very well supported as a storage backend for pretty much all OpenStack services. Cinder is mostly used for Volume and Snapshot management, interfacing between the front-end/API of OpenStack and whatever backend is set for Cinder, which is hosting the actual volumes and snapshots.
c9lgPZqHNGdC1V1··on Ask HN: How can I come to peace with the years I wasted on pointless things?
There will always be more to regret than not to regret. In life we can only be mindful of a tiny subset of possibilities. The choices you make and have made, leave ample room for regret. Each second focused on regret, the regret can only mount. 'Oh if only I had done so and so instead of this and that.' There is no reason to believe you would not be steeped in regret, if you had made other choices.

Regret can only exist while looking at the past.

Do you wish to do away with regret...?

Then focus on achieving your future goals instead.
