c0brac0bra··on What Is Going on with UFOs and the Department of Defense?
The mere mention of the word "extraordinary" is presumptive and asserts a line of reasoning that must be defended if one requires claims to be interpreted through it.
c0brac0bra··on Distributism
Additionally the foremost apologists for Distributism, G.K. Chesterton and Hilaire Belloc, were Catholic writers.
c0brac0bra··on Show HN: X-spreadsheet – A JavaScript canvas spreadsheet for web
Good luck finding a full-featured browser grid product that doesn't do virtual rendering. They all have to, even Google Sheets.

c0brac0bra··on C.S. Lewis on the Reading of Old Books
Yep. The Inklings was the group and it included Tolkien, Lewis' brother, Christopher Tolkien, etc.

c0brac0bra··on The Curse of the Honeycrisp Apple
Braeburns are perfectly cheap and taste great and crisp, imo. I've never understood the draw of $3+/lb Honeycrisps.
c0brac0bra··on GoDaddy to suspend domain name Gab.com tomorrow
The shooter's content was scrubbed and gab notified the FBI once they were made aware of it. What else were they supposed to do?
c0brac0bra··on GoDaddy to suspend domain name Gab.com tomorrow
They can't post on their own service because their hosting was pulled by joyent.
c0brac0bra··on Service Workers
"Imagine being able to respond to push notifications"

Yes, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could do this in all major browsers today? sigh

c0brac0bra··on Nike Says Its $250 Running Shoes Will Make You Run Much Faster
Does he blink?
c0brac0bra··on Show HN: HyperApp – 1k JavaScript framework for building web applications
I've really enjoyed using Hyperapp so far. Looking forward to building more with it.
c0brac0bra··on Gluon – Deep Learning API from AWS and Microsoft
Page is 404ing now?
c0brac0bra··on Show HN: Coinhive – Embeddable JavaScript Crypto Miner
There's throttling settings.
c0brac0bra··on Introducing sphinx-js, a better way to document large JavaScript projects
Dgeni has been around for years and (is?) has been used to document the Angular codebase.
c0brac0bra··on Scientists create ‘designer yeast’ in major step toward synthetic life
But what does the beer it makes taste like?
c0brac0bra··on The murder investigation that put the first female district attorney on the map
dittos
c0brac0bra··on NSIS 3.0 ready
Dittos! I actively use it and it's great to see such a storied project continuing to be supported.
c0brac0bra··on LokiJS – In-memory JavaScript Datastore with Persistence
There are ways to filter the replication.
c0brac0bra··on Wine Tech Upstart Drops Smart Bottle on a $300B Industry
This was my response. There are lots and lots of different boxed wine brands nowawdays, with different levels of quality and price.
c0brac0bra··on Announcing Firebase Mobile Offline Support
I noticed Firebase stores things in localStorage. That wasn't being used for handling being offline in webapps/mobile hybrid apps?
c0brac0bra··on WCF is Open Source
Agreed, though it can be hard finding documentation that covers more complex use cases.
c0brac0bra··on How Possibilities of Life Elsewhere Might Alter Held Notions of Faith
I'd think Chesterton would have had something to say about it but I'm having a hard time finding any references. I would posit that there's some relevant material in The Everlasting Man, though.
c0brac0bra··on 2 years with Angular
Amen. Look back 10 years ago and we were having the exact same discussions about mod_perl, php, and java servlets. Nothing has really changed except perhaps for an increase in the number of regurgitated comparisons.
c0brac0bra··on Stop Changing UIs for No Good Reason
It's also become incredibly difficult to scroll properly in the new calendar. I constantly find myself scrolling horizontally when I want to scroll vertically, or vice-versa; it is maddening.
c0brac0bra··on Thrust: Chromium-based cross-platform, cross-language application framework
Not sure if it's the same issue, but I ran into problems with node-webkit and jagged font-icon animations due to them not being able to package direct3d dlls with the project. Simply popping them in on my own solved it.
c0brac0bra··on C# and .NET's Sudden Ubiquity
I recently did a project with node-webkit and edge.js. There were some hurdles but it ended up working pretty well.

I get to use the both the same HTML-based UI on the web part and the desktop app, as well as the compiled .NET libraries.

c0brac0bra··on C# and .NET's Sudden Ubiquity
100000x this. While trying to track down a memory leak I discovered that while pretty much any guide out there on the internet points to using WinDg and referencing a Microsoft site for the symbol files, the .pdb doesn't actually exist.

As far as I can tell the symbol files got removed with one of the 4.5.x releases, and as early as June people were asking about them: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/expression/en-US/7b...

Still no word... I'm no debugging expert, but it seems like you're SOL if you want to find a leak within managed code.

c0brac0bra··on GitHub is your resume so keep your resume in GitHub
markdown-resume-js takes a format parameter and will export to pdf with wkhtmltopdf.
c0brac0bra··on GitHub is your resume so keep your resume in GitHub
Thanks for your work! I'm the author of markdown-resume-js and it wouldn't exist if I didn't have your repo to blatantly rip-off :)

I'm actually surprise the library is getting any use at all. I hacked it together over a week after being frustrated with the options out there, then finding yours and wanting the same thing in node.

c0brac0bra··on Chromecast now open to developers with the Google Cast SDK
You can tab cast Amazon Instant Video from Chrome. I've been successfully using it for months.
