Now, open code allows anyone with tokens to burn to analyze it for hidden weaknesses. That makes publishing code a risky move unless you've already invested a lot of effort in securing it.
If anything makes it more expensive it's the habit of certain manufacturers to nickel and dime buyers over every option.
Lots of cases are ultimately thrown out due to lack of evidence. Even Kevin Spacey was acquitted.
There are lots of open source games or game engines where the artwork is trivial to acquire and lots of people enjoy them. But these engines also have to be maintained to be available 'forever'. The business model of game development seems not really suited to open source, lots of games are ripped off within days and posted on app stores with a slightly different name. And that's with proprietary code, with OSS it will take even less time. If you can't sell it you can't live from it and if you can't live from it you don't have the time and incentive to make a great game.
The AVM Fritz product line of consumer modem/routers all include a DECT modem for registering extra handsets for voice but they have their own proprietary handsets that support TCP/IP over DECT for things like audio streaming or sending extra media like a caller photo.
Maybe you'd like to use a competitor to the Photos app and don't want to use the one Apple provides?
To be fair, recent versions of JBoss/Wildfly removed a lot of the bloat and boot within seconds. Startup time is mostly due to application frameworks nowadays.
The Switch port has gyro aiming though.
Also, possible Apple since they haven't gone into deep debt to finance 'AI buildout'.
