When it comes to Iranian government, there are two types of people that run it.
First group are the fanatic idiots who consider themselves at war with the west. They see anyone who who is not aligned with their view as enemy and therefore must be removed/killed.
The second group are opportunists who probably have assets abroad and will do and say anything to stay in power as long as possible to milk every last penny.
I think it's important to identify them and their families abroad. Deporting their families and freezing their assets inorder to change their behaviour.
I tried helping my Iranian friend to get around the internet restrictions. I have to agree with the author most big players could not give a flying f*ck. Even signal can't be bothered to address verification SMS issue.
If all companies try to hire from the same small pool say women in tech. Don't they have to compete with each other? And therefore pay them more than others?
I have been wondering about this, but always too scared to ask it as it comes a cross as an attack.
I assure you it's not an attack but a genuine question.
Reading a lot of comments here makes me think that GCP has built up a very bad reputation for customer support. Does anyone know if they are responded to this?
I have to say, I do think I have judged my female managers more harshly than I have my male ones. Maybe it was because it was easier to communicate with male ones. Anyone else retrospectively think they might have been unfair to their female managers?
I have a limited experience using NodeJs. My first interaction with Node was unpleasant. The whole npm world seemed very insecure and very wide wide west like, thinking back I can't remember why I felt that now.
I know the article said some would like to get away from the npm. For those who still would like to use npm with Deno, I would love to know why. (I'm genuinely curious, not looking to start a flame war)
I feel like the rest of the world is catching up. Growing up muslim is FELT like my community was misrepresented and framed on a particular way. Now, I'm sure either side of the political division feel exactly as I have for years.
YT couldn't care less if creators are unhappy with anything at the moment. There is no real competition, so creators have to just deal with it. I hope for a real competition, where there will be a mass exodus.
Judging by the comments here, there are a lot of frustration. Since git is open sourced and it's a basic tool why aren't the experts here contributing and making it work how everyone here thinks it should work?
I wonder how many hours have been wasted on fixing mistakes made on git. Recently, I watch a friend spend two days try and figure out what the junior Devs have done with commits and branches
So the first question I have is "does tracking help provide better search results?"
The second question is, "Can you run a profitable search engine without target ad revenues?"
I have had very interesting conversations with people who are "casual" users of internet. They are still finding the results of the likes of Google, bing and duckduckgo perfectly suitable. Maybe it's most of us here who have different needs to what's available.
I see a lot of comments here pointing to new/inexperienced developers. As one of those guys, I have to say JS community is not that great at keeping blogs/docs/tutorials up to date. Take react for example the learning section is quite out of date and no one develops using classes anymore.
Bloody hell. Whoever engages in such behaviour is an enemy of open society. I wonder if there is a way to identify such accounts online and remove them from platforms.
