Some developers are locked in to using some in house UI solution that is slow to implement any new features from evergreen browsers and even is still shipping hacks for IE11, although it was depreceted company wide years ago.
There is "Prefer WebGPU" toggle (on by default), but it does nothing. How hard would it be to add simple support test to check if browser has all required capabilities to run your application? I think at least allowing to browse models does not require WebGPU, right?
The worst thing is when browsers are adding rounded corners to viewport and covering part of website. This is breaking design and in some cases might even hide crucial information.
Very worrying trend is thin scrollbars on websites, or in some rare cases - scrollbar just hidden. Fortunately Firefox has a setting in about:config: layout.css.scrollbar-width-thin.disabled=true .
Are there any similar projects that do recompilation for old DOS games? I am mainly interested in games written in Borland Turbo C, as I am trying to work out how one of them works. Some resources like tutorials would be great too.
Default apps in GrapheneOS are really outdated. Especially "Gallery" where on standard "compact" device top navbar is still too small and requires very precise touch. Hopefully, little by little, all stock applications will be updated to more modern variants. I personally had plans to build some open source stock Android applications, but after whole nonsense with platform being locked down I do not see the point in investing my time, just for google to block my apps.
Would be neat if Fairphone would build a real compact smartphone, something with 4" or 5" screen. Current device is too large for human pockets and all those protruding camera bumps and buttons are really uncomfortable.
We get the message alright - everyone move over to alternative platforms. Biggest issue to get local government socials moved to something more open and accessible without an account.
Someone clearly had a lot of fun making all of those components. Adorable and whimsy. One nitpick - when writing uppercase letters in text field they should make larger ripples than lowercase.
There is a severe lack of compact smartphones in the market. Are there any devices available with regular OS updates, that fit into normal sized pocket?
This is actually a really great feature for everyone else trying to reduce their phone use without switching to different "dumbphone". But why mandatory lock by passcode? I agree, that adding more friction would prevent user to switch back to standard UI, but still - it should be optional.
