burnitdown··on University of Chicago: ‘We Do Not Support So-Called Trigger Warnings’
I'm not using partner instead of girlfriend just in case some third party might get their fee fees hurt. This is insanity. The linked articles provide many absurd examples. This isn't a slippery slope, this is stupidity personified.

Which is ultimately why they are bad. Asking people to "tag" everything that could be offensive is moronic.
burnitdown··on El Chapo and the History of the Heroin Crisis
It's strange. You seem to be really concerned about wifi security and the greater implications but are using the most exploited OS in the universe and you seem unfazed by the fact that security updates have stopped.

It's not tounge in cheek. Pot sales dropped by 40% so they pivoted to heroin.

If you had 20 billion dollars in your garage you would definitely lock it up. Right?

At on of the first "all hands" meeting, she decided to read a children's book. We know what happened: terrible leadership and terrible judgement.
burnitdown··on How we're scammed into eating phony food
The answer is simple but establishing a relationship and trying to determine trust is way out of reach for most people.
burnitdown··on When Persuasion Turns Deadly
We need a reboot.
burnitdown··on Income inequality today may be higher today than in any other era
So 51% of people in the UK are chavs?
burnitdown··on Income inequality today may be higher today than in any other era
Yes it is. The people are not complaining about income inequality directly. They are complaining about jobs and wages. Increase those two and suddenly income inequality becomes less of an issues because people have enough to live on.

I do think the name is dumb but I would imagine you get a warning when it is activated.

They should rename it after the guy who died. Eg: Bob Smith = Smith mode. "Bob Smith died because he was not paying attention, please use Smith mode responsibly."

burnitdown··on The Tesla Autopilot Crash Victim Was Apparently Watching a Movie When He Died
Trust but verify. "Autopilot" mode still needs a functional human brain to verify its actions.
burnitdown··on Tesla driver killed while using autopilot was watching Harry Potter
It just proves that money can't buy common sense.
burnitdown··on How Chinese Students Saved America's Colleges
Hard to justify spending $80,000 for a degree that leads to a job that makes $34,000. Something is broken.
burnitdown··on Globalization’s losers are revolting
Very large groups of people are already on the other side. They are ready and have been for a while. If you can't feel the squeeze, you consider yourself extremely lucky.
burnitdown··on Globalization’s losers are revolting
Um, do you have any idea of what "continue to do what we have been doing" is going to look like in terms of human suffering?

The system is broken. The long decent into madness is completely unnecessary. The quicker it dies, the quicker we can pivot.
