bunnyhero··on Forebruary
these have been around for a long time. e.g. https://www.ebay.com/itm/276030548980, https://www.ebay.com/itm/275256905873
bunnyhero··on The Amazing iOS 6 Maps
The 3D view mess-ups are fun to look at but are the most understandable and least unique to Apple. It's not hard to find messed up 3D in Google as well.
bunnyhero··on My next text editor
the last time i tried jedit (admittedly, years ago) i found the font rendering on mac os x to be ugly. since it's on your checklist, i assume it's improved since then?
bunnyhero··on Java for iPhone
Also note that the demo video is from the Simulator, not an actual device.
bunnyhero··on Don’t Make Your Apps Offline Stupid
The blog post confused me until I realized that the author meant "Don't Make Your Apps Offline-Stupid," rather than "Don't Make Your Apps Offline, Stupid."
bunnyhero··on Show HN: my Mac app just got fireballed
I'm reminded of the Newton clipboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhivPLXrLjk
bunnyhero··on The Python Standard Library - Where Modules Go To Die
The permalink for the article is http://www.leancrew.com/all-this/2012/04/where-modules-go-to... (the posted link is actually the home page of the blog).
bunnyhero··on Introducing Google Drive... yes, really
Follow-up anecdotal data: Drive app on my 1st-gen MacBook Air is using 2-4% CPU, even when "paused."

(For comparison, the Dropbox client uses 0 to 0.2% CPU when idling.)

Now I'm curious. Do you have a screenshot? (I don't have Drive yet)

EDIT: never mind, I can see them in the graphic on the announcement blog post. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OmO4AEPzKVE/T5bIDxKcD6I/AAAAAAAAJH...

bunnyhero··on Introducing Google Drive... yes, really
That sounds bad. Since I am primarily a laptop user, I am very picky about which online sync and backup services I use based on the resource usage of their desktop clients.
bunnyhero··on SkyDrive is a threat to Dropbox
I rely on Dropbox shared folders for exchanging files with some clients. I also use the Dropbox integration of a few essential iOS apps quite regularly. For me, switching would mean having my clients install Skydrive, as well updates to those iOS apps for Skydrive support.
bunnyhero··on Light and illumination. Why LEDs have not taken over the world yet
I didn't know this about CFLs: "The compact lamps have the low-quality Chinese electronics that often burn out faster than the bulb itself."
bunnyhero··on Logging out of Facbook is not enough
also, currently, all incognito windows (in chrome) share the same cookie jar. so if you are using facebook in an incognito window while surfing other sites in other incognito windows, you have the same problem.
bunnyhero··on Google+ Opens to All
Facebook is 13+, but Google+ is currently limited to 18+.
bunnyhero··on Startups should not use GoDaddy. Ever
i've been using them for years, and am quite happy. i use them for almost all of my domains.
bunnyhero··on Facebook has your complete phonebook
that's what i thought too, until i read this on that page:

"Facebook Phonebook displays contacts you have imported from your phone, as well as your Facebook friends.

If you would like to remove your mobile contacts from Facebook, you need to disable the feature on your mobile phone and visit this page."

bunnyhero··on Tweetbot
I haven't tried TweetBot yet, but I have also rejected other Twitter clients for not showing enough tweets in the timeline view.
bunnyhero··on Tweetbot
I've found that Boxcar's push is more reliable than any other Twitter clients' push, including the official client.
bunnyhero··on Creepy iPhone bug: front facing camera takes pictures by itself.
In iOS 4, such APIs do exist. I blogged briefly about it here http://www.bunnyhero.org/2010/08/17/thoughts-on-ios4-camera/ (I used the API for a test app that uses the front camera to detect how much light is shining on the iPhone http://www.bunnyhero.org/2010/08/15/turn-your-iphone-into-a-... )
bunnyhero··on Dell launches purported MacBook Air killer
at 4 lbs it's too heavy to compete with the air.
bunnyhero··on Why Adobe Flash penetration is more like 50% than 99%
Believe me, I am quite familiar with cs3 install issues :( Their installers are horrible. But the comment I was replying to stated as fact that everyone has to uninstall Flash before installing CS3, which (as my data point shows) is not universally true.

To extend your analogy, the original comment is like saying: "If you go to Afghanistan, you will get your head cut off."

bunnyhero··on Why Adobe Flash penetration is more like 50% than 99%
i didn't have to uninstall anything when i installed CS3.
bunnyhero··on Flipping Typical (Fonts)
easier and more accurate.

Sam, you've got Google Analytics installed on your blog, why not look there for your own survey?
