bugBunny··on Using the same Arch Linux installation for a decade
totally of topic... as a previous Arch user, I switched to POP-OS with my new laptop, simply because it worked out of box with everything, and I struggled to even make a proper SMB connection to windows network with ARch... not to mention automatical USB stick mounting etc... However, as someone who would like to get back to Arch because gnome uses so much power, and I am missing the simplicity of Arch, is there some good tutorial to make it a decent distro right after installation including the sound, nvidia graphic, network settings, display (with external usbc connected display) etc...

I guess none of these suggestions really work without the last one "Move to Brazil and live in the rainforest" :)
bugBunny··on Ask HN: What tech stack would you use for your next small/middle project?
thats the issue, I dont want to work something I don't like anymore, not even for money, since there is plenty of positions opened in any of the stack.
bugBunny··on Ask HN: What tech stack would you use for your next small/middle project?
dude, I had to google this :D
bugBunny··on Ask HN: What tech stack would you use for your next small/middle project?
Well, I just mentioned what was used for a web, yet we had tons of tools working on internet and intranet, as well as background workers...

bugBunny··on Ask HN: How did Google botch messaging/video/hangouts so badly?
They did not build YouTube by their knowledge, they acquired competition company. They had Google videos back at that time.

bugBunny··on I’ve changed my mind on Bitcoin
Did not read the article, but the main issue with cryptocurrencies I see is that everyone is buying them so they can sell it later when the price goes up.

I tried to dm you, but you disabled dm on twitter. Somehow we have almost same path, running an agency at the moment with 9 ppl :-)
bugBunny··on Switching from Apple to Lenovo
If you invest some time building your own linux environment, e.g. Xfce or openbox, or kde.. You will probably found that once it completely works the way you customize it, it will work until You break it. I've seen testimonials of guys using rolling releases of Linux or, some debian based distro that runs for years without any issue. No scam installed alongside your OS. Well... I use arch btw.

The only reason I am still using windows is MS office. I might give it a try myself... My home machine is running Arch linux and works flawlessly for more then two years already. Just my work is still stucked with a lot of documentations sharing between some other people and I need MS office programs which have no alternative in open-source word. well, the office.com looks promising these days and I hope to switch completely ASAP.

great idea
bugBunny··on Ask HN: Are you syncing the browsers history and passwords accross devices?
Yes I can mix up my own password encryption on some cloud service.. I need sites I came across at work machine to quickly reopen when at home office.
bugBunny··on Ask HN: How can I pick a side project and stick with it?
Thanks for the tip, will probably try to rewrite the idea myself.
bugBunny··on Ask HN: How do you find freelance work?
Thats illegal, you had signed contract with upwork.

bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
touch screen works as well?
bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
its extremely expensive. Usually small laptop is not your main computer, so I guess you don't want to spend fortune on it.
bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
x240 and t440 are way too expensive here in Europe. They cost like 3 year old used car :-).

But is it good with linux, does it recognizes touch screen normally?

bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
did not get it, is the sound gone finally?
bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
thats so sad... thanks for feedback, this is really disappointing. Which thinkpad you have in mind, is there some with my requirements list and normal price which would support linux?!

Does it stops the noise if you turn off keyboard lid?!

bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
thanks mate, so far I am in between xps 13 and xps 12... I really like how they look and feel, even the price is not advantage though :)
bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
thumbs up for review, I had no idea about these guys... MacBook is used by Linus as well, I think :-).
bugBunny··on Ask HN: Ultrabook with linux
Besides XPS 13, I really like xps 12 flip thing, which is great to have maybe once in three months, but its nice to have :D... I am not sure are xps 13 repositories playable for xp13 as well?!

What about lenovo?
