given that money is printed/created at the federal level, we don't need a complicated tax enforcement system nor need to tax everything under the sun at the federal level. corporate taxation is a waste of time.
My observation as well. Going remote makes it harder to switch jobs because of loosing the personal connections and networks that get developed working on site. Going through the front door when applying for opportunities is usually more difficult than the back door. Back door as in getting introduced via your network. As a result, I've learned that a good recruiter is now a necessity because they have those relationships with hiring managers which can put you to the front of the line and also prep you better for the process.
Wow! Rare to see someone get it. MMT follower ? Would add that the money printing is being distributed proportionaly to the wealthy under a Deomcrat regime. Pretty sad.
Absolutely it amplifies. Complex and esoteric configuration of frameworks, for example, entails so much reading and Googling and can be very time consuming without AI. AI can help to bring custom software to the markets that could not otherwise afford to pay for it.
My son plays American football at the high school level. He rides the school bus to school every morning and I try to pick him up everyday and catch the tail end of his after school practice. It is one of the great joys of my day. Its about a 20 minute car ride home and we spend the entire time talking about football, school, gossip, whatever. As a single parent who works long software dev hours, I cherish this time.
A company in California wants to push me out the door unfairly and I'm a remote employee in another state and want to fight it or get some just compensation, should I consult an attorney in California or my state. ? (edit: sorry just noticed this is regarding immigration law only )
Governments like the US federal gov, who are currency issues can afford anything . Where did the 7 trillion dollar covid spending come from ? What we cannot afford is to do nothing and maintain the status quo. Federally funded nuclear with plug in electric is the path to prosperity.
why can't we do nuclear with plugin hybrids in urban areas. the federal government , which, as an issuer of money, can afford anything, unlike states/municipalities, should massively fund nuclear to save the environment meet energy demands. seems like such a no-brainer.
I think I've had chronic insomnia for about 20 years now. I sleep 5 or 6 hours on good nights. Sometimes less. Don't have trouble falling asleep. The prob is waking and tossing and turning. Agree that the problem is probably psychological combined with aging. Since i cant forsake work, computer and cell phone screens for a year on a beach in mexico(which I think would fix the problem) I'll try the app.
The Job Guarantee proposal is much better [1]. At its essence is to guarantee a federally funded job to anyone that wants one with a living wage and full benefits. This would tighten the labor market, put a floor on it, and lift society from the ground up. Firms would then have to provide better jobs than the guarantee if they want labor.
No. Fed policy has been to increase the price of money or interest rates in hopes of reducing demand in the economy to combat inflation because it makes borrowing more expensive to borrowers.
The Fed does not target the monetary aggregates. Its impossible. They target interest rates, that is, the price of money, by buying and selling treasury securities and by paying interest on reserves. If they were to target monetary aggregates they would be unable to target interest rates.
When the treasury department spends, deposits are created at Fed bank member accounts. Ultimately these deposits end up buying treasury securities or getting paid IOR (Interest on Reserves) in Fed reserve accounts. So the same money that is spent by Treasury "re-cycles" into new treasuries ad infinitum or till we hit the debt ceiling.
Yeah. This would put a floor on working standards. Living wage. Health care. Vacay. Etc. Make the private sector compete for labor. Rising tide lifts all boats.
