1. Create Linked in profile with all your skills and work experience. 2. Create github and upload some of your personal projects, etc. or create some code there. 3. I dont know. Its one thing when you are 65 and all your kids are grown up. Its a whole other thing when you are 50 and have young children at home. I have a friend with 4 young kids. He has stage 4 cancer requiring constant chemo and pain, but he is going to fight it with everything they have in order to be there as long as possible with his kids - and maybe beat it.

I don't know. Is it in fact more prevalent in America? I don't know just asking. It is a societal and cultural problem IMO.

Gun control cant and wont solve these problems. These are societal problems. Anyone insane and evil enough to kill children would get guns on the black market or use some other weapon such as a bomb. Schools need to able to have armed guards and better locked/secured entries IMO.

Actually I've thought about something similar many times (except I'd just build it myself). Or, maybe having a small RV to work in... getting away from wife and kid during work is the main issue for me ;)
bstewartny··on The End of the Working Week
I agree working at the office is much better. I have a family (young son and stay-at-home mom wife) and it is way too many distractions at home. I work at home 2x per week, and have 1hr45min commute each way other 3 days. But train ride is good for reading/programming too. Ideal situation: small work cabin in my backyard...
