bruno2223··on The Bitcoin Whales: 1,000 People Who Own 40 Percent of the Market
Btc prices can still being manipulate by whales? (Honest question)

I know shitcoins can, because the Market Cap is low and it is easier for whales to manipulate the market.

But... This also happen with BTC now days? There are millionaires who puts all their BTC in one exchange? Jesus.. they are crazy.

bruno2223··on C'mon, Digital Ocean, why are you so evil?
Got it. I was suspecting this as well.

They could do a rule like:

Approve new accounts instantly, then monitor all servers for 1 week. If a CPU server are higher then 80% for 5 minutes, trigger a ticket support so the DigitalOcean team can take a look closer, and shut down the server based on what you have told me.

Both kind of criminals (miners and spammers) use a lot of CPU. This kind of rule could avoid, I think.

Ok. Thanks mate. See you!

bruno2223··on UPX – Ultimate Packer for Executables
Nice to know!

Well, It was another protection layer for, like you sad, to keep bad kids away.

This was 10 years ago already.

bruno2223··on UPX – Ultimate Packer for Executables
I dunno know. But this method worked for years!
bruno2223··on UPX – Ultimate Packer for Executables
UPX was also good to protect the code, not only for compacting:

1. I used UPX to compact my Delphi EXE file.

2. Then I openned up any HEXA editor

3. looked for "UPX" string and changed to "222x"

Doing this, the UPX unpack tool didn't work and crackers could not easily see or edit my source code with Assembly (as UPX mess with everything!)

Thanks UPX :-)

bruno2223··on Ask HN: 6-figure freelancers of HN, what do you do?
Exactly!
bruno2223··on Ask HN: 6-figure freelancers of HN, what do you do?
Back-End Dev here (Node).

I do integration between Brazillian mobile carriers and international Apps (content providers in general) who wants to get into Brazilian market, usually to bill users on their mobile plan instead of paypal or inApp Purchase. The funnil gap is much lower when you Bill users in mobile plan.

Brazilian carrier has a tough and slow integration process and, without a local IT support is almost impossible to connect with them.

As I have everything ready for all major carriers, it's easier/faster/cheaper to hire me instead of build the integration by itself.

bruno2223··on A free, self-guided study program for software engineers in San Francisco
Cool Ozanonay,

How the program works? I mean, there's any schedule, plans or lessons to follow? Can you share some of the scope to give us an idea how the course works? Tks!

bruno2223··on I fell in love with an assassin (2008)
Sad.
bruno2223··on Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (August 2017)
Anyone got hired posting here?

I see potential in "who's hiring" post. But here, at "who wants to be hired" seems a bit strange.

I can't see a recruiter coming here to find his dream employee.

Am I wrong?

bruno2223··on Why I Choose Delphi
> Delphi 5 instead of Games CDs

LOL!!!!

> 20 consecutive lines

Haha that's nice think about trial and error.

Cool history!

bruno2223··on Why I Choose Delphi
I still compile a old project in Delphi 7 once every 3 months just to add 5 lines of code, and they pay me monthly for it. It's cheaper than porting the whole system to any other language.

It is a project that I've built 8 years ago. Delphi was already a "strange think" on that time, it was declining fast. I think Java killed Delphi - "One codebase for all platforms, even your freezer will have Java!" - this was the cool sentence on that time.

Since I started with Delphi when I was 14 (I am now 33), a lot of thinks changed to me. Now I mainly work in back-end field, building APIs, Bots, Crawlers and Queues to do massive things (like receive million SMS per hour in a voting system for a TV Reality Show program)

When I am programming, 70% of my time is Nodejs, 10% Python and 20% Vuejs.

But I still miss the old days of drag-N-drop GUI of Delphi, really easy.

bruno2223··on Teller – API for your bank account
Cool project,

You should make it open source (to grow your bank catalog by the community) with some premium Plan (to earn money of it)

That's the only way to get it worldwide, otherwise, you will have to do MITM attack every single Bank App in order to get their APIs, with is painful and most of the times impossible without valid credentials.

Opensource + Premium is the way to go!

bruno2223··on Microsoft is fixing the Outlook bug that causes “:)” to revert to “J”
6 years of this bug, and now they're fixing.
bruno2223··on Ask HN: Advanced web crawling resources?
Yes, indeed, scraping is the easiest part.

Saving everything in a way for use it later is much harder (and expensive), IMHO.

bruno2223··on SHOW HN: I rebuilt my blogging app on Node.js and just open sourced it
Well organized node.js code as well. Nice project, claviska.

bruno2223··on Show HN: Async/await alternative
Then you simply do not use this module :-)

Unless you have Time and RAM to waste.

bruno2223··on Show HN: Findr, an omegle like chat made with Node.js, socket.io and angularJS
Humm why they get disconnected?

Because you do a node refresh on the server on every Git Push?

You could make 2 repos to avoid that: frondend + backend

Then you could update frontend without disconecting users... On backend update you'll still get this issue of disconecting on Git pushs, there is no fast-and-easy solution, I think.

bruno2223··on Show HN: Findr, an omegle like chat made with Node.js, socket.io and angularJS
Cool chat! Fast!

Somethings that I saw:

1. Horizontal scrolling is a bit boring (when you text a long message)

2. Automatic Vertical scrolling is not always working

But it still awesome :-) congrats!

bruno2223··on Caddy – HTTP/2 Web Server with Automatic HTTPS
Wow - now you forced me to switch from what I have to Caddy. Cool nazrak, tks!!
bruno2223··on Caddy – HTTP/2 Web Server with Automatic HTTPS
For static files:

1. Mimefy plug: check

2. Gzip feature: check

3. HTTP/2 new protocol: check

4. Auto SSL: check

5. Cache static files on memory to avoid reading then on disk, then Mimefy, then gzip on eveeeery request: MISSING <- this plug would be nice to have it to reduce disk I/O and CPU.

bruno2223··on Ask HN: Free tool to schedule and receive SQL emails?
But how to send the result of this SQL query in a beautiful table format in email's body?

It would be nice to have HTML tags with CSS style.

I am thinking in build an easy tool to do that, really similar to your solution using cronjob, but more fancy and easy to ready on email (also with an .csv attached with all data)

What do u think?

bruno2223··on Show HN: SummitDB – In-Memory NoSQL DB
I use LevelDB, it is a key-value database, from Google.

I am using it with Nodejs, on t2.micro, handling 10+ million requests / day

Never had an issue. in production for one year already. Really good :-)

There is also a way, on rooted Androids, to sniff SSL pinned Apps.

SSL pinned is not an protection for reverse engineering anymore, you may want to add this info on your post.
