brooknam··on The dangers of relying on startup steroids
Why is that?
brooknam··on Meet New York Superangel Fabrice Grinda, Master of Digital Knockoffs
An entrepreneur can't have a better last name than Grinda.

Pronounced: "grinder"

brooknam··on Crowd computing taps artificial intelligence to revolutionize...
I don't see how "crowd computing" is fundamentally different from the crowd sourcing techniques already in use on the enterprise level, for example Facebooks translation.
brooknam··on Chartbeat raises $9.5 million to measure the real time web

brooknam··on Founders beware: accelerators offer upside, but only if you’re ready
Having been through one of the smaller accelerators named in this pier I just want to say, amen. Nobody talks about the stress of being picked over by investors like a piece of meat, and of falling out of favor with the program's organizers, because you're not showing the traction in the first ONE or TWO months they thought you would.

Sounds like there is more to this story. If they are adding hundreds of new clients, why are folks heading for the door?
brooknam··on Yammer CEO won't hire anyone from Yahoo who doesn't quit in next 60 days
This goes a bit far. I am sure there are fine folks at Yahoo who have achieved seniority that they need to support their families. They may object to how the company does business, but can't just walk away job. Is the hiring situation in the Valley really so intense that anyone could find new work in 60 days?
brooknam··on A Classic Startup Horror Story
Having seen a startup in Austin, TX go through this same kind of thing, I would guess its more common than the author makes it sound here.

The best defense is to build a technology that isn't cheap to reproduce. There is no better moat than killer IP.
