My basic concept was that at some price photographers would give away all the digitals, customers should be able to "use" them (but not sell them) as they wished, and that people should choose photographers almost exclusively on the quality of their work. The business would be a marketplace fee for arranging the transaction.
I ultimately gave up due to personal priorities (children / day job) and a complicated legal mountain to climb (who owns copyright? Do you force everyone into a contract?).
If anyone wants to pick it up I'd be happy to share the code.
Also, if you're using it for remote presentations, all you do is email a link and they can see your screen directly in the browser.
I think the aggregate location to find free content online is a great angle to pursue. Create a nice couch interface like YouTube Leanback and I think you're onto something.
Downside is you have to have a computer that is always on, connected, and potentially unusable for other purposes when transcoding. In my case it's a Acer Revo HTPC connected to the living room TV.
"Given that users have a free choice for their password, if users select a four digit password to their online account, it’s not a stretch to use this as a proxy for four digit PIN codes."
Though there probably wouldn't be drastically different phenomenon, I think the actual PIN distribution would be noticeably different. Particularly 1234. It may still be the top PIN, but I don't think it would have the same dominance. People choose trymynewwebservice.ly passwords a lot more callously than their bank password. I have to believe on average people put a little more effort into disguising it.
