breppp··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
I don't know, an example, Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese spreading nazi era conspiracy theories about Jews controlling political systems.

And that's from a human rights body, and from its representative to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict

breppp··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
the UNHR is comically biased against Israel though and controlled by totalitarian countries with less than stellar human rights records
breppp··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
That ended in a million dead over bi-partisan 20 years of war. Without 9/11 including massive hostage taking, rape or mass murder with torture in people homes.

The other main difference is that 9/11 ended within a few days, the hostage part of 7/10 made it an ongoing disaster for years in Israel.

breppp··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
That's a very flat take. That ignores the fact that the doctor that saw the prisoner reported it for investigation or that the military had chose to prosecute it, also you don't mention this was one case, not "systematic"

Even ignoring the fact that protests do not imply popular support, there is no comparison as 9/11 did not include widespread sexual violence and ongoing hostage rape was still going on at the time this happened.

So even if this seemed terrible to most Israelis, it was hard to find someone who will publicly defend a rapist from rape in jail

breppp··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
yes, that's exactly my point
breppp··on Stop Making TUIs
TUI and Rust surged back in popularity when programmers through frameworks became detached from the actual work and needing to differentiate from all others in the even playing field. It's like turntables to Hipsters. Now with LLMs it is only going to get worse.
breppp··on The A.I. In Google's New Pixel 11 Is Not Helpful
It's just a rehash of the good Google+ days. This time instead of get your money for stamping social on everything, it's AI
breppp··on Google has acquired the data of failed US airline Spirit
You probably should have taken the kid to small claims, that was extortion
breppp··on In 1962, Egypt's Missile Program Lost Its Key Scientist Without a Trace
Not sure what's the historical validity for that one source saying it was fraudulent, but this sure reads like anachronism. As someone that tries to defend him being part of selling ballistic missiles to Iran a very short time before it turning into a theocracy.

I am not completely inclined to believe Bergman because of me personally knowing one case where he published something completely wrong, and also this doesn't align with the cooperation Israel had with pre-revolution Iran.

In any case, it's theoretically possible, I guess

breppp··on In 1962, Egypt's Missile Program Lost Its Key Scientist Without a Trace
Where's the part about deceiving in the link? Aren't you conflating Iran-Contra that happened after the revolution?
breppp··on Pixel Watch 5
Not tracking every minute of REM sleep isn't going to change either, the unimportance of the data is not what they are selling though
breppp··on Pixel Watch 5
> I don't get the people that need to wear it 24/7 for days at a time.

I think that's kinda expected when the device itself is supposed to give you the illusion it is always there tracking your health (even when sleeping)

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
I have to say that just like the poster you are replying to, I am inclined to believe what you are saying because of Russia's past actions, and this modus operandi you described being successful elsewhere

However, he is right that I would want a bit more information about the multiple assassinations in NATO part, because I want to believe we are not there yet, and that this would have implications, even in today's Europe

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
I'm not sure how is that related to the original topic.

The events I am describing are a decade to two before the ones you are describing. Back in the early 2000s Qatar was already financing Hamas as well as Al Qaeda (including involvement in 9/11 financing) and Hezbollah in some extent.

Saying Qatar needed Israel's request to start financing ideologically close Islamist terror organizations is certainly the Qatar government line for their involvement, but it's a very shallow analysis of what happened

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
> Now this sounds like a joke.

OP alluded to the Euromaiden protests being an orchestrated Obama-led coup. I still don't see how this is the case. There's some difference between diplomatic reactions to proactive overthrow

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
> Hamas has the influence it has because the US wants it to have it

I doubt this is backed by US intentions and actions historically

> Similarly, Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood because he did

That seems like a tautology to me, care to expand? I vividly remember Obama throwing his autocrat ally under the bus

> in Ukraine for instance the same admin supported a coup

The protests in Ukraine hardly seem like a US coup and were organic according to my understanding, but maybe you can point exactly to the US involvement

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
It is a very weak ideological motivation for people who would never enlist in the first place.

However, I think people are generally too cynical towards a very real belief system. There are multiple examples of US pushing for democracy against its own interest. Bush with the Hamas Gaza elections, Obama with the Egypt Muslim Brotherhood government and Carter with pre-revolution Iran are such examples

That's a better source I found, does not call the phenomenon lucky strike though

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
Sounds like a good tip if someone wants to find themselves in jail
breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
That's probably false as you can see historically that ideological armies have far better morale and better effectiveness
breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
Haven't found a lot about it online, other than https://www.polskieradio.pl/395/7786/artykul/3438674,russian...

Do you have any references about it?

This is very reminiscent of Iranian intelligence modus operandi in Israel and world wide lately, currently with not a lot to show for

breppp··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
That's an interesting theory and I am not saying you are entirely incorrect, but I'd imagine that the vast personnel of cyber-adjacent roles in the US Military have better civilian prospects in tech than a Air Force pilot with an eye problem.
breppp··on Mythos social engineering AISI INC-2026-07-28-01
It's nice it is able to write non-slop in the PR comment when social engineering.

Any chance I can ask it to social engineer to get a normal style?

breppp··on Anthropic CEO reportedly worried new hires only care about money
He is right, when a startup becomes successful the hiring pool becomes different. For example, you won't see people who came for politics-sake before real money is on the table.

This can kill the culture and make the actual people that were shipping unhappy

breppp··on Changes at Google DeepMind: Demis Hassabis from CEO to Chair, Jeff Dean departs

breppp··on More German than many Germans
The Prussians nobles were a big reason why the Nazis rose to power and were well integrated to the party and the army.

The Prussians losing power is not the reason why Germany changed, but because Germany changed its values (militarism wasn't sacred anymore) the Prussians lost power post-war.

That change was a change in the collective opinions of the entire country, and that did not happen because the allies took everyone to school but because people saw the effect of that ideology and the disaster with their own eyes, and their decision was not the same decision they collectively reached post-WW1

breppp··on U.S. used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war
They are mainly using the known fact that there's no chance in hell that the US will invade Iran with ground forces. They also previously negotiated as if this war would never start, so they might make a mistake as this is Trump after all.

In any case, Iran is not in a prime position either, it has many economic assets that can be completely destroyed as it has no air defense and then leave them in a much worse situation, while the only real damage they can do to the US is by attacking their own neighbors

breppp··on Apple is getting this wrong

breppp··on U.S. used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war
They have been preparing for 50 years yet lost all their leadership, nuclear facilities, ballistic missile manufacturing ecosystem and air defenses in minutes to days.

The US is not doing amazing in this war but no need to give the Iranians too much credit. The Iranians are expanding a lot of resources of their own as much as this war drags on.

It is still very early to say how a country will fare considering that it ran out of water and was on a verge of economic breakdown and revolt before fighting a prolonged war with economic blockade of its main export.

breppp··on More German than many Germans
Yes, and the founding belief of corruption is that, "that's the way it works", "everybody does it", "this can never change".

That essentialism is exactly the notion the poster I was replying to was echoing

Western countries were also corrupt at a time, bribery was common, yet things can change
